Abstract

An air conditioner which comprises: a temperature sensor; and a processor that obtains, based on receiving a turn-on command for the air conditioner, a first temperature value sensed through the temperature sensor; based on a threshold time elapsing subsequent to the receiving of the turn-on command, obtains a second temperature value sensed through the temperature sensor; and provides notification information related to an environment in which the air conditioner is installed, on the basis of the first temperature value and the second temperature value.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An air conditioner comprising:
 a memory configured to store a reference value;   a temperature sensor; and   a processor configured to:
 obtain temperature data through the temperature sensor, 
 obtain a cooling rate based on the temperature data, 
 obtain a determination result, indicating whether an environment in which the air conditioner is installed is a normal or an abnormal, by comparing the cooling rate and the reference value, 
 provide notification information based on the determination result, and 
 update the reference value based on the determination result. 
   
     
     
         2 . The air conditioner of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 based on receiving a turn-on command for the air conditioner, obtain a first temperature value that is initially sensed through the temperature sensor when the turn-on command is received,   based on a threshold time elapsing subsequent to the receiving of the turn-on command, obtain a second temperature value sensed through the temperature sensor, and   obtain the temperature data including the first temperature and the second temperature.   
     
     
         3 . The air conditioner of  claim 2 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 obtain a first difference value between the first temperature and the second temperature, and   obtain the cooling rate by dividing the first difference value by the threshold time.   
     
     
         4 . The air conditioner of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 obtain a learning table value stored in the memory,   obtain an index reference constant stored in the memory,   obtain a second difference value between the learning table and the index reference constant, and   update the reference value based on the second difference and a threshold value.   
     
     
         5 . The air conditioner of  claim 4 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 based on the second difference being less than the threshold value, maintain the reference value, and   based on the second difference being greater than or equal the threshold value, update the reference value with a first value obtained by subtracting the index reference constant from the learning table value.   
     
     
         6 . The air conditioner of  claim 5 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 based on the cooling rate being less than the reference value, identify that the environment is abnormal as the determination result, and   based on the cooling rate being greater than or equal the reference value, identify that the environment is normal as the determination result.   
     
     
         7 . The air conditioner of  claim 6 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 obtain a learning value stored in the memory,   based on the determination result being abnormal, maintain the learning value, and   based on the determination result being normal, update the learning value with a second value obtained by adding the learning table value to the cooling rate.   
     
     
         8 . The air conditioner of  claim 7 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 update the learning value with the second value obtained by adding the learning table value which is applied a first weight to the cooling rate which is applied a second weight,   wherein the first weight is different from the second weight.   
     
     
         9 . The air conditioner of  claim 8 , wherein the processor is further configured to:
 obtain a number of learning operation after maintaining the learning value or updating the learning value,   based on the number of learning operation being less than a threshold number, perform the learning operation, and   based on the number of learning operation being greater than or equal to the threshold number, provide the notification information to the environment.   
     
     
         10 . The air conditioner of  claim 1 , wherein the temperature sensor is included in at least one of an indoor unit or an outdoor unit, and
 wherein the notification information is related to the environment in which at least one of the indoor unit or the outdoor unit is installed.   
     
     
         11 . A method of controlling an air conditioner including a temperature sensor and a memory configured to store a reference value, the method comprising:
 obtaining temperature data through the temperature sensor,   obtaining a cooling rate based on the temperature data,   obtaining a determination result, indicating whether an environment in which the air conditioner is installed is a normal or an abnormal, by comparing the cooling rate and the reference value,   providing notification information based on the determination result, and   updating the reference value based on the determination result.   
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the obtaining the temperature data comprises:
 based on receiving a turn-on command for the air conditioner, obtaining a first temperature value that is initially sensed through the temperature sensor when the turn-on command is received,   based on a threshold time elapsing subsequent to the receiving of the turn-on command, obtaining a second temperature value sensed through the temperature sensor, and   obtaining the temperature data including the first temperature and the second temperature.   
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 12 , wherein the obtaining the cooling rate comprises:
 obtaining a first difference value between the first temperature and the second temperature, and   obtaining the cooling rate by dividing the first difference value by the threshold time.   
     
     
         14 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the updating the reference value comprises:
 obtaining a learning table value stored in the memory,   obtaining an index reference constant stored in the memory,   obtaining a second difference value between the learning table and the index reference constant, and   updating the reference value based on the second difference and a threshold value.   
     
     
         15 . The method of  claim 14 , wherein the updating the reference value comprises:
 based on the second difference being less than the threshold value, maintaining the reference value, and   based on the second difference being greater than or equal the threshold value, updating the reference value with a first value obtained by subtracting the index reference constant from the learning table value.   
     
     
         16 . The method of  claim 15 , wherein the method further comprises:
 based on the cooling rate being less than the reference value, identifying that the environment is abnormal as the determination result, and   based on the cooling rate being greater than or equal the reference value, identifying that the environment is normal as the determination result.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the method further comprises:
 obtaining a learning value stored in the memory,   based on the determination result being abnormal, maintaining the learning value, and   based on the determination result being normal, updating the learning value with a second value obtained by adding the learning table value to the cooling rate.   
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17 , wherein the method further comprises:
 updating the learning value with the second value obtained by adding the learning table value which is applied a first weight to the cooling rate which is applied a second weight,   wherein the first weight is different from the second weight.   
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein the method further comprises:
 obtaining a number of learning operation after maintaining the learning value or updating the learning value,   based on the number of learning operation being less than a threshold number, performing the learning operation, and   based on the number of learning operation being greater than or equal to the threshold number, providing the notification information to the environment.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the temperature sensor is included in at least one an indoor unit or an outdoor unit, and
 wherein the notification information is related to the environment in which at least one of the indoor unit or the outdoor unit is installed.
