Abstract

A cartridge and an aerosol generating device including the same are provided. The cartridge includes: a first container comprising a first chamber, a wick, and a heater; a second container configured to be detachably coupled to the first container and comprising a second chamber configured to store a liquid to be supplied to the wick; wherein the first chamber comprises a first air flow inlet and a first air flow outlet forming a first channel therebetween; and wherein the second container is formed to provide a second channel partitioned from the second chamber and in communication with the first air flow outlet.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A cartridge comprising:
a first container comprising a first chamber, a wick, and a heater; a second container configured to be detachably coupled to the first container and comprising a second chamber configured to store a liquid to be supplied to the wick; wherein the first chamber comprises a first air flow inlet and a first air flow outlet forming a first channel therebetween; and wherein the second container is formed to provide a second channel partitioned from the second chamber and in communication with the first air flow outlet.

2 . The cartridge of claim 1 , further comprising a sealer providing a seal between the first container and the second container in a vicinity of the first air flow outlet when the second container is coupled to the first container.

3 . The cartridge of claim 2 , wherein the sealer surrounds the first air flow outlet.

4 . The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the first channel is positioned laterally offset from a position of the wick.

5 . The cartridge of claim 4 , wherein the first container and the second container are coupled such that the second container is on top of the first container, and
wherein the first air flow outlet is formed at an upper portion of the first chamber to lead upward into the second channel.

6 . The cartridge of claim 5 , wherein the first air flow inlet is formed at a lower portion of the first chamber.

7 . The cartridge of claim 6 , wherein the first air flow inlet and the first air flow outlet are vertically aligned.

8 . The cartridge of claim 5 , wherein the first air flow inlet is formed at a lateral side of the first chamber.

9 . The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein the wick comprises:
a first wick part disposed in the first chamber; and a second wick part protruding from the first wick part and out of the first chamber through a liquid inlet of the first container, wherein the second wick part is positioned to be supplied with the liquid from the second container.

10 . The cartridge of claim 9 , further comprising a supporter configured to support a lower portion of the first wick part to be spaced apart from a lower surface of the first chamber,
wherein the heater is formed in a pattern at a lower surface of the first wick part.

11 . The cartridge of claim 10 , wherein the supporter is configured to provide an opening between the first channel and the heater.

12 . The cartridge of claim 1 , further comprising a mouthpiece covering the second container and having a second air flow outlet in communication with the second channel.

13 . The cartridge of claim 1 , wherein when air from outside of the first container is introduced into the first channel through the first air flow inlet and sequentially passes through the first air flow outlet and into the second channel, aerosol generated by the wick is drawn from the first chamber and introduced into the first channel to also pass through the first air flow outlet and into the second channel.

14 . An aerosol generating device, comprising:
a body to which the first container of claim 1 is configured to be detachably coupled; and a second air flow inlet defined by an opening at the body and configured to communicate with the first air flow inlet.

         15 . A cartridge comprising:
a first container comprising a first chamber, a wick, and a heater, wherein the wick and the heater are disposed at the first chamber; a second container configured to be detachably coupled to the first container and comprising a second chamber configured to store a liquid to be supplied to the wick; wherein the first chamber comprises a first air flow inlet and a first air flow outlet forming a first channel passing through the wick or adjacent to the wick; and wherein the second container is formed to provide a second channel partitioned from the second chamber and in communication with the first air flow outlet.
