Navigation Aid Device

Abstract

A navigation aid device for reminding a user of proper positioning of buoys relative to a vessel includes a figurine having a front portion and a rear portion. The front portion is a first color, such as green. The rear portion is a second color, such as red. The front portion can be positioned facing a port side of a vessel when the vessel is travelling upstream whereby the front portion can indicate a first side of the vessel on which a green buoy should be positioned when passing the green buoy. The rear portion can be positioned facing a starboard side of the vessel when the vessel is travelling upstream whereby the rear portion can indicate a second side of the vessel on which a red buoy should be positioned when passing the red buoy.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A navigation aid device comprising:
 a figurine having a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion being a first color on the top side, the first color being green, the rear portion being a second color on the top side, the second color being red;   the front portion being configured for positioning facing a port side of a vessel when the vessel is travelling upstream whereby the front portion is configured to indicate a first side of the vessel on which a green buoy should be positioned when passing the green buoy; and   the rear portion being configured for positioning facing a starboard side of the vessel when the vessel is travelling upstream whereby the rear portion is configured to indicate a second side of the vessel on which a red buoy should be positioned when passing the red buoy.   
     
     
         2 . The navigation aid device of  claim 1 , wherein the figurine has a shape being configured to resemble a crocodile, the front portion being configured to resemble a head of the crocodile, the rear portion being configured to resemble a tail of the crocodile. 
     
     
         3 . The navigation aid device of  claim 1 , the figurine further comprising a top side, a bottom side, and a peripheral side extending therebetween. 
     
     
         4 . The navigation aid device of  claim 3 , further comprising a logo being printed on the bottom side. 
     
     
         5 . The navigation aid device of  claim 3 , further comprising a front leg member being coupled to the bottom side of the front portion, the front leg member extending outwardly from the figurine. 
     
     
         6 . The navigation aid device of  claim 5 , the front leg member further comprising a pair of arrows being positioned on opposite sides of the figurine, the pair of arrows being curved toward the rear portion. 
     
     
         7 . The navigation aid device of  claim 3 , further comprising a rear leg member being coupled to the bottom side of the rear portion, the rear leg member extending outwardly from the figurine. 
     
     
         8 . The navigation aid device of  claim 7 , the rear leg member further comprising a pair of straight lateral edges and a pair of curved lateral edges, the pair of straight lateral edges being between the pair of curved lateral edges, the pair of curved lateral edges being convexly arcuate between the pair of straight lateral edges. 
     
     
         9 . The navigation aid device of  claim 1 , wherein the figurine has a length between 6.0 inches and 8.0 inches. 
     
     
         10 . The navigation aid device of  claim 1 , wherein the figurine has a width between 0.5 inch and 1.5 inches. 
     
     
         11 . The navigation aid device of  claim 1 , wherein the figurine has a height between 0.25 inch and 1.0 inch. 
     
     
         12 . A navigation aid device comprising:
 a figurine having a top side, a bottom side, and a peripheral side extending therebetween, the figurine having a front portion and a rear portion, the front portion being a first color on the top side, the first color being green, the rear portion being a second color on the top side, the second color being red;   the front portion being configured for positioning facing a port side of a vessel when the vessel is travelling upstream whereby the front portion is configured to indicate a first side of the vessel on which a green buoy should be positioned when passing the green buoy;   the rear portion being configured for positioning facing a starboard side of the vessel when the vessel is travelling upstream whereby the rear portion is configured to indicate a second side of the vessel on which a red buoy should be positioned when passing the red buoy, wherein the figurine has a shape being configured to resemble a crocodile, the front portion being configured to resemble a head of the crocodile, the rear portion being configured to resemble a tail of the crocodile;   a front leg member being coupled to the bottom side of the front portion, the front leg member extending outwardly from the figurine, the front leg member having a pair of arrows being positioned on opposite sides of the figurine, the pair of arrows being curved toward the rear portion;   a rear leg member being coupled to the bottom side of the rear portion, the rear leg member extending outwardly from the figurine, the rear leg member having a pair of straight lateral edges, the rear leg member having a pair of curved lateral edges, the pair of straight lateral edges being between the pair of curved lateral edges, the pair of curved lateral edges being convexly arcuate between the pair of straight lateral edges;   a logo being printed on the bottom side between the front leg member and the rear leg member; and   the figurine having a length between 6.0 inches and 8.0 inches, the figurine having a width between 0.5 inch and 1.5 inch, the figurine having a height between 0.25 inch and 1.0 inch.
