Rible Bipod Feet

Abstract

Feet for a rifle bipod having left and right legs, the feet incorporating left and right table contact members having muzzleward ends and breechward ends; the feet further incorporating left and right leg support members; the feet further incorporating race guided ball bearings which attach the leg support members to the table contact members, wherein the race guided ball bearings are adapted for, upon a translation of a rifle's recoil to the leg support members, permitting a movements of the leg support members toward the table contact members' breechward ends.

1 . A foot for a rifle bipod, the rifle bipod having left and right legs, the foot comprising:
 a. A table contact member having a lower end, a muzzleward end and a breechward end;   b. A leg support member; and   c. Movable mounting means attaching the leg support member to the table contact member, the movable mounting means being adapted for, upon a translation of a rifle's recoil to the leg support member, permitting a movement of the leg support member toward the table contact member's breechward end.   
     
     
         2 . The foot of  claim 1 , wherein the table contact member comprises a bar or a sleeve. 
     
     
         3 . The foot of  claim 2 , wherein the lower end of the table contact member comprises a shoe. 
     
     
         4 . The foot of  claim 3 , further comprising a connector fixedly attached to the leg support member, the connector being adapted for joining one of the rifle bipod's legs with the leg support member. 
     
     
         5 . The foot of  claim 4 , wherein the mounting means comprise a joint selected from a group consisting of sliding contact joints and roller adapted joints. 
     
     
         6 . The foot of  claim 5 , further comprising a breechward stop connected operatively to the table contact member, the breechward stop being adapted for, upon the movement of the leg support member toward the table contact member's breechward end, resisting breechward movement of the leg support member from said breechward end. 
     
     
         7 . The foot of  claim 6 , further comprising a spring connected operatively to the leg support member, the spring being adapted for normally positioning the leg support member at the table contact member's muzzleward end. 
     
     
         8 . The foot of  claim 7 , further comprising a muzzleward stop connected operatively to the table contact member, the muzzleward stop being adapted for resisting muzzleward movement of the bipod leg support member from the table contact member's muzzleward end. 
     
     
         9 . The foot of  claim 4 , wherein the connector comprises a fastener selected from a group consisting of pin and socket joints, “C” bracket joints, snap fasteners, screw fasteners, adhesively bonded joints, welded joints, and wholly formed joints. 
     
     
         10 . Feet for a rifle bipod, the rifle bipod having left and right legs, the feet comprising:
 a. Table contact members having lower ends, muzzleward ends, and breechward ends;   b. Leg support members; and   c. Movable mounting means attaching the leg support members to the table contact members, the mounting means being adapted for, upon translations of a rifle's recoil to the leg support members, permitting movements of the leg support members toward the table contact members' breechward ends.   
     
     
         11 . The feet of  claim 10 , wherein the table contact members comprise bars or sleeves. 
     
     
         12 . The feet of  claim 10 , wherein the lower ends of the table contact members comprise shoes. 
     
     
         13 . The feet of  claim 12 , further comprising connectors fixedly attached to the leg support members, each connector being adapted for joining one of the rifle bipod's legs with one of the leg support members. 
     
     
         14 . The feet of  claim 13 , wherein the mounting means comprise joints selected from a group consisting of sliding contact joints and roller adapted joints. 
     
     
         15 . The feet of  claim 14 , further comprising breechward stops connected operatively to the table contact members, the breechward stops being adapted for, upon the movements of the leg support members toward the table contact member's breechward ends, resisting breechward movements of the leg support members from said breechward ends. 
     
     
         16 . The feet of  claim 15  further comprising springs connected operatively to the leg support members, the springs being adapted for normally positioning the leg support members at the table contact members' muzzleward ends. 
     
     
         17 . The feet of  claim 16  further comprising muzzleward stops connected operatively to the table contact members, the muzzleward stops being adapted for resisting muzzleward movements of the leg support members from the table contact members' muzzleward ends. 
     
     
         18 . The feet of  claim 12 , wherein the connectors comprise fasteners selected from a group consisting of pin and socket joints, “C” bracket joints snap fasteners, screw fasteners, adhesively bonded joints, welded joints, and wholly formed joints.
