Document receiving apparatus

Abstract

A document receiving apparatus comprises a receiving port configured to receive a document into an apparatus main body, a document stopper configured to be pivotable between a first posture in which reception of the document is suppressed and a second posture in which the reception is permitted, a holding portion configured to hold the document stopper in the first posture, and a biasing portion configured to bias the document stopper held in the first posture to be set in the second posture

         19 . A document receiving apparatus comprising:
 a receiving port configured to receive a document into an apparatus main body;   a document stopper configured to be pivotable between a first posture in which reception of the document is suppressed and a second posture in which the reception is permitted;   a feeding roller configured to convey the document received from the receiving port to a downstream side;   a power source configured to generate power for pivot of the document stopper; and   a control unit configured to control the power source and to control rotation of the feeding roller,   wherein the control unit performs the control such that the document stopper moves from a first posture to a second posture and then the rotation of the feeding roller is started.   
     
     
         20 . The apparatus according to  claim 19 , further comprising:
 a guide member including a placement surface on which the document is placed to be in a state where reception of the document is suppressed by the document stopper,   wherein the control unit sets the guide member in a rotatable state such that the placement surface is located below the feeding roller, and controls the power source such that the document stopper moves from the first posture to the second posture and such that conveying of the document is started by the feeding roller after the document moves to a position where the document contacts with the feeding roller.   
     
     
         21 . The apparatus according to  claim 20 , further comprising:
 a pivot member configured to form a gap in which a distal end portion of the stopper can be located, the pivot member including an edge portion configured to contact with the stopper.   
     
     
         22 . The apparatus according to  claim 21 , wherein
 the guide member is biased downward, and   the guide member is kept in a state in which the placement surface is located above the feeding roller by contacting with the pivot member.   
     
     
         23 . A document receiving apparatus comprising:
 a receiving port configured to receive a document into an apparatus main body;   a document stopper configured to be pivotable between a first posture in which reception of the document is suppressed and a second posture in which the reception is permitted; and   an arm portion configured to be switched between a first position and a second position, the document stopper being in the first posture when the arm portion is at the first position and in the second posture when the arm portion is at the second position.   
     
     
         24 . The apparatus according to  claim 23 , further comprising:
 a biasing portion configured to bias the document stopper to be set in the second posture.   
     
     
         25 . The apparatus according to  claim 24 , further comprising:
 an arm support portion configured to move the arm portion between the first posture and the second posture.   
     
     
         26 . The apparatus according to  claim 25 , wherein the arm support portion is biased by the biasing portion.
