Table Attachment Device

Abstract

The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a table attachment device. The device is an attachment for collapsible chairs that functions as a portable table. The table attachment device comprises a pivotable primary tabletop, a secondary tabletop, two collapsible legs and an attachment component with adjustable clips that clip onto an armrest of a collapsible chair. Thus, once the device is secured to a collapsible chair, a user can place food, beverages, utensils, and/or other items on the tabletops.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A table attachment device comprising:
 a primary tabletop pivotably attached to a secondary tabletop via a pivotable fastener, wherein the primary tabletop is configured to pivot horizontally by at least 90 degrees to expose the secondary tabletop;   a collapsible leg connected to the underside of the secondary tabletop, the collapsible leg including a hinged support bar for locking the collapsible leg in an extended position; and   an attachment component, the attachment component comprising an adjustable clip configured to engage with an armrest of a collapsible chair to secure the table attachment device thereto.   
     
     
         2 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the primary tabletop is rectangular in shape. 
     
     
         3 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the secondary tabletop is rectangular in shape. 
     
     
         4 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the pivotable fastener is comprised of a swivel joint, a friction hinge, or a ball-and-socket joint. 
     
     
         5 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the collapsible leg is comprised of an end cap. 
     
     
         6 . The table attachment device of  claim 5 , wherein the end cap is positioned at a distal end of the collapsible leg. 
     
     
         7 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the adjustable clip is comprised of an impact-resistant plastic. 
     
     
         8 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment component is positioned on the secondary tabletop. 
     
     
         9 . The table attachment device of  claim 8 , wherein the attachment component is positioned on an underside of the secondary tabletop. 
     
     
         10 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the primary tabletop is comprised of a waterproof material. 
     
     
         11 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the primary tabletop is comprised of a UV-resistant material. 
     
     
         12 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the secondary tabletop is comprised of a waterproof material. 
     
     
         13 . The table attachment device of  claim 1 , wherein the secondary tabletop is comprised of a UV-resistant material. 
     
     
         14 . A table attachment device comprising:
 a primary tabletop and a secondary tabletop, the primary tabletop being pivotably connected to the secondary tabletop via a pivotable fastener, the primary tabletop configured to pivot by at least 90 degrees to reveal the secondary tabletop;   a collapsible leg connected to the secondary tabletop, the collapsible leg being equipped with a hinged support bar that allows the collapsible leg to fold inward for storage and unfold for use; and   an adjustable clip attached to the secondary tabletop and configured to secure the table attachment device to an armrest of a collapsible chair, the adjustable clip comprised of a spring-loaded adjustable clip.   
     
     
         15 . The table attachment device of  claim 14 , wherein the primary tabletop is rectangular in shape. 
     
     
         16 . The table attachment device of  claim 14 , wherein the secondary tabletop is rectangular in shape. 
     
     
         17 . The table attachment device of  claim 14 , wherein the pivotable fastener is comprised of a swivel joint, a friction hinge, or a ball-and-socket joint. 
     
     
         18 . The table attachment device of  claim 14 , wherein the primary tabletop is comprised of a waterproof material. 
     
     
         19 . The table attachment device of  claim 14 , wherein the primary tabletop is comprised of a UV-resistant material. 
     
     
         20 . A method of using a table attachment device, the method comprising the following steps:
 providing a table attachment device comprised of a primary tabletop, a secondary tabletop, a collapsible leg, and an attachment component with adjustable clips;   unfolding the collapsible leg;   expanding the hinged support bar of the collapsible leg to lock the collapsible leg in place;   attaching the table attachment device to an armrest of a collapsible chair by securing the adjustable clip to the armrest;   pivoting the primary tabletop horizontally to reveal the secondary tabletop; and   utilizing the table attachment device to hold item.
