Abstract
The present disclosure relates to nail files and a method for manufacturing a nail file. Multisided nail files are disclosed having two or more concave surfaces covered with an applied material including an abrasive material such as sandpaper. And the method comprises the steps of providing a substrate having two or more surfaces, providing an abrasive material, and securing the abrasive material.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . A nail file comprising:
a substrate with three or more elongated recessed surfaces, wherein each elongated recessed surface has a first edge and a second edge and the substrate is one of solid or hollow; a length along the first edge and the second edge and a width between the first edge and the second edge, wherein the width of the elongated recessed surface is less than the length of the first edge of the surface; and an abrasive material secured to one or more of the elongated recessed surfaces.
2 . The nail file of claim 1 further comprising a curved tip at least at a first end.
3 . The nail file of claim 1 wherein the substrate is formed of a material selected from plastic, acrylic, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), styrene, foam, rubber, silicone, glass, wood, paper, and epoxy.
4 . The nail file of claim 1 wherein the substrate has a convex upper surface.
5 . The nail file of claim 1 wherein the abrasive material is sandpaper.
6 . The nail file of claim 1 wherein at least one the elongated recessed surfaces is a nail buffing material.
7 . The nail file of claim 1 further comprising a channel along two or more sides of each elongated recessed surface.
8 . The nail file of claim 1 further comprising a channel along two or more sides of each elongated recessed surface operable to receive a substrate having the abrasive material.
9 . The nail file of claim 1 wherein a first width at a first end and a second width at a second end, narrower than the first width.
10 . The nail file of claim 1 wherein the elongated recessed surface is concave.
11 . A method for manufacturing a nail file:
providing a substrate with three or more elongated recessed surfaces, wherein each elongated recessed surface has a first edge and a second edge and the substrate is one of solid or hollow, a length along the first edge and the second edge and a width between the first edge and the second edge, wherein the width of the surface is less than the length of the first edge of the surface; providing an abrasive material; and securing the abrasive material or more of the elongated recessed surfaces along the length.
12 . The method of claim 11 further wherein the securing step is snapping-in an abrasive material substrate to engage a first channel on a first side of the elongated recessed surface and a second channel on the second edge of the elongated recessed surface.
13 . The method of claim 11 further comprising forming a substrate from a material selected from plastic, acrylic, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), styrene, foam, rubber, silicone, glass, wood, paper, and epoxy.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
