Abstract
According to one embodiment, a method for controlling a clothing treatment device and a clothing treatment device in which the method is performed may be provided, the method characterized by comprising the steps of: performing a first rotation operation in which a driving part rotates a drum on the basis of at least one of a first rotation pattern and a second rotation pattern; and determining an amount of laundry accommodated in the drum on the basis of information detected in a rotation process, wherein the first rotation pattern comprises: a first acceleration section; and a second acceleration section in which the drum rotates at a faster rotational acceleration after passing the first acceleration section.

17 . A method for controlling a laundry treating apparatus, the laundry treating apparatus including a drum and a driver configured to rotate the drum, the method comprising:
performing a first rotation operation, the first rotation operation comprising rotating the drum by the driver based on at least one of a first rotation pattern or a second rotation pattern; and determining an amount of laundry in the drum based on information acquired by performing a rotation process of the drum, wherein the first rotation pattern comprises (i) a first acceleration section and (ii) a second acceleration section in which the drum rotates with a higher rotational acceleration than in the first acceleration section.
18 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the first rotation operation comprises rotating the drum by the driver based on the first rotation pattern, and
wherein determining the amount of laundry comprises:
determining whether a center of gravity of the drum is out of a preset threshold range based on information acquired by performing the first rotation operation; and
determining whether the amount of laundry exceeds a preset threshold value based on the information acquired by performing the first rotation operation.
19 . The method of claim 18 , further comprising:
performing a second rotation operation after the first rotation operation based on a result of a determination of the amount of laundry, wherein performing the second rotation operation comprises:
based on (i) a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is out of the preset threshold range or (ii) a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is within the preset threshold range and the amount of laundry exceeds the preset threshold value, rotating the drum based on the second rotation pattern, and
wherein determining the amount of laundry in the drum further comprises determining the amount of laundry in the drum based on information acquired by performing the second rotation operation.
20 . The method of claim 19 , wherein performing the second rotation operation further comprises:
controlling the driver not to rotate the drum based on a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is within the preset threshold range and the amount of laundry is less than or equal to the preset threshold value.
21 . The method of claim 17 , wherein performing the first rotation operation comprises rotating the drum by the driver based on the second rotation pattern, and
wherein determining the amount of laundry comprises determining whether the amount of laundry exceeds a preset threshold value based on information acquired by performing the first rotation operation.
22 . The method of claim 21 , further comprising:
performing a second rotation operation after the first rotation operation, wherein performing the second rotation operation comprises:
based on a determination that the amount of laundry exceeds the preset threshold value, repeatedly rotating the drum by the driver based on the second rotation pattern; and
based on a determination that the amount of laundry is less than or equal to the preset threshold value, rotating the drum by the driver based on the first rotation pattern, and
wherein determining the amount of laundry in the drum comprises determining the amount of laundry in the drum based on information acquired by performing the second rotation operation.
23 . The method of claim 22 , wherein determining the amount of laundry in the drum based on the information acquired by performing the second rotation operation comprises:
determining whether a center of gravity of the drum is out of a preset threshold range based on the information acquired by performing the second rotation operation; and determining whether the amount of laundry exceeds the preset threshold value based on the information acquired by performing the second rotation operation.
24 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising:
performing a third rotation operation after the second rotation operation, wherein performing the third rotation operation comprises:
based on (i) a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is out of the preset threshold range or (ii) a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is within the preset threshold range and the amount of laundry exceeds the preset threshold value, repeatedly rotating the drum by the driver based on the second rotation pattern, and
wherein determining the amount of laundry in the drum comprises determining the amount of laundry accommodated in the drum based on information acquired by performing the third rotation operation.
25 . The method of claim 23 , further comprising:
controlling the driver not to rotate the drum based on a determination, by the information acquired during the second rotation operation, that the center of gravity of the drum is within the preset threshold range and the amount of laundry is less than or equal to the preset threshold value.
26 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the first rotation pattern further comprises at least one speed maintaining section that is configured to be performed at at least one of a start time point or an end time point of the first rotation pattern.
27 . The method of claim 26 , wherein the first rotation pattern further comprises a deceleration section that is configured to be performed after the second acceleration section.
28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein at least one of (i) a highest rotation speed in the first acceleration section, (ii) a highest rotation speed in the second acceleration section, or (iii) a lowest rotation speed in the deceleration section is higher than a highest rotation speed in the second rotation pattern.
29 . The method of claim 17 , wherein the second rotation pattern comprises an accelerated rotation section and a decelerated rotation section.
30 . The method of claim 17 , wherein determining the amount of laundry comprises:
determining whether friction torque information acquired by performing the rotation process exceeds a preset threshold torque value; determining that an error has occurred in response to a determination that the friction torque information exceeds the preset threshold torque value; and outputting error information indicating the error.
31 . The method of claim 30 , wherein outputting the error information comprises transmitting the error information to a user terminal.
32 . A laundry treating apparatus comprising:
a drum; a driver configured to rotate the drum; and a controller configured to control the driver, wherein the controller is configured to:
control the driver to perform a first rotation operation, the first rotation operation comprising controlling the driver to rotate the drum based on at least one of a first rotation pattern or a second rotation pattern, and
determine an amount of laundry in the drum based on information acquired by performing a rotation process of the drum, and
wherein the first rotation pattern comprises (i) a first acceleration section and (ii) a second acceleration section in which the controller controls the drum to rotate with a higher rotational acceleration than in the first acceleration section.
33 . The laundry treating apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the controller is configured to:
perform the first rotation operation by controlling the driver to rotate the drum based on the first rotation pattern; determine whether a center of gravity of the drum is out of a preset threshold range based on information during the first rotation operation; and determine whether the amount of laundry exceeds a preset threshold value based on the information acquired during the first rotation operation.
34 . The laundry treating apparatus of claim 33 , wherein the controller is further configured to perform a second rotation operation after the first rotation operation,
wherein the second rotation operation comprises:
based on (i) a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is out of the preset threshold range or (ii) a determination that the center of gravity of the drum is within the preset threshold range and the amount of laundry exceeds the preset threshold value, rotating the drum based on the second rotation pattern, and
wherein the controller is configured to determine the amount of laundry in the drum based on information acquired by performing the second rotation operation.
35 . The laundry treating apparatus of claim 32 , wherein the controller is configured to:
perform the first rotation operation by rotating the drum by the driver based on the second rotation pattern; and determine whether the amount of laundry exceeds a preset threshold value based on information acquired during the first rotation operation.
36 . The laundry treating apparatus of claim 35 , wherein the controller is further configured to perform a second rotation operation after the first rotation operation,
wherein the second rotation operation comprises:
based on a determination that the amount of laundry exceeds the preset threshold value, repeatedly rotating the drum by the driver based on the second rotation pattern; and
based on a determination that the amount of laundry is less than or equal to the preset threshold value, rotating the drum by the driver based on the first rotation pattern, and
