System and method of manufacturing suspension member

Abstract

A suspension member includes a first plurality of yarns forming a first zone having a first tension and a second plurality of yarns forming a second zone having a second tension that is different from the first tension, wherein at least some of the yarns in the first zone are fused together.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A suspension member comprising:
 a first plurality of yarns forming a first zone having a first tension; and   a second plurality of yarns forming a second zone having a second tension that is different from the first tension,   wherein at least some of the first plurality of yarns in the first zone are fused together.   
     
     
         2 . The suspension member of  claim 1 , wherein at least some of the second plurality of yarns in the second zone are fused together. 
     
     
         3 . The suspension member of  claim 1 , wherein the at least some of the first plurality of yarns have a different melting point than at least some of the second plurality of yarns. 
     
     
         4 . The suspension member of  claim 1 , wherein the first plurality of yarns includes a first set of yarn and a second set of yarn that is different from the first set of yarn. 
     
     
         5 . The suspension member of  claim 4 , wherein the second plurality of yarns includes the first set of yarn and the second set of yarn. 
     
     
         6 . The suspension member of  claim 4 , wherein the first set of yarn includes monofilaments, and wherein the second set of yarn includes multifilaments. 
     
     
         7 . The suspension member of  claim 1 , wherein the at least some of the first plurality of yarns in the first zone are fused together at the first tension. 
     
     
         8 . The suspension member of  claim 1 , further comprising a third plurality of yarns forming a third zone having a third tension that is different from the first and second tensions. 
     
     
         9 . The suspension member of  claim 1 , wherein the at least some of the first plurality of yarns in the first zone that are fused together are fused through applying heat to the first zone. 
     
     
         10 . A chair comprising a frame and a carrier retaining the suspension member of  claim 1 , wherein the suspension member extends across the frame.
