Personal protection gown with frontal coverage

Abstract

Systems, methods, and devices include a personal protection gown to provide frontal protection for the user. The personal protection gown includes a neck protector extending from a front neckline of a body portion of the personal protection gown. The neck protector partially couples to the front neckline such that a separation gap between the neck protector and the body portion is formed (e.g., on either side of the partial coupling and around the back of the neck). Extension straps of the neck protector are pulled around a neck of the user and form a knot to secure the neck protector and the personal protection gown in place. The separation gap provides flexibility in how tightly the neck protector is pulled such that the personal protection gown effectively provides zone A coverage (e.g., as defined by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) for different body shapes and sizes).

Having thus described various embodiments of the disclosure, what is claimed as new and desired to be protected by Letters Patent includes the following: 
     
         1 . A personal protection gown for protecting a user, comprising:
 a body portion comprising a front, a back, a neckline, a first shoulder portion, and a second shoulder portion;   a neck protector extending from the neckline of the body portion,   wherein the neck protector extends from the neckline at the first shoulder portion around the front over the second shoulder portion to at least the back of the body portion; and   a neck protector extension extending from the neck protector above the back of the body portion,   wherein the neck protector extension is configured to couple to the neck protector.   
     
     
         2 . The personal protection gown of  claim 1 , wherein the neck protector extension is configured to couple to the neck protector above the first shoulder portion. 
     
     
         3 . The personal protection gown of  claim 1 , wherein the neck protector extension comprises a neck protector extension fastener configured to couple the neck protector extension to the neck protector. 
     
     
         4 . The personal protection gown of  claim 3 , wherein the neck protector comprises a neck protector fastener configured to receive the neck protector extension fastener for coupling the neck protector extension to the neck protector. 
     
     
         5 . The personal protection gown of  claim 4 , wherein the neck protector fastener is provided above the first shoulder portion. 
     
     
         6 . The personal protection gown of  claim 5 , wherein the neck protector extension fastener is one of a button, a snap, an adhesive, and a hook and loop. 
     
     
         7 . The personal protection gown of  claim 1 , wherein the neck protector extension and the neck protector are configured to be coupled by adhesive tape. 
     
     
         8 . The personal protection gown of  claim 1 ,
 wherein the neck protector extension extends from the neck protector directly above a first edge of the body portion, and   wherein the first edge of the body portion forms a back opening with a second edge of the body portion.   
     
     
         9 . The personal protection gown of  claim 8 ,
 wherein the neck protector extension is integrally formed with the neck protector and comprises a width measured from a bottom edge to a top edge of the neck protector extension, and   wherein the width is equal to or less than the neck protector measured from the neckline to a top edge of the neck protector.   
     
     
         10 . A personal protection gown for protecting a user, comprising:
 a body portion comprising a front, a back, a neckline, a first shoulder portion, and a second shoulder portion;   a neck protector extending from the neckline of the body portion,   wherein the neck protector extends from the first shoulder portion around the front over the second shoulder portion to at least the back of the body portion; and   a neck protector extension comprising a neck protector extension fastener,   wherein the neck protector extension extends from the neck protector above the back of the body portion,   wherein the neck protector extension fastener is configured to couple to the neck protector above the first shoulder portion of the body portion.   
     
     
         11 . The personal protection gown of  claim 10 , further comprising:
 a neck gap provided between the neckline of the body portion and the neck protector; and   a waist belt permanently coupled to a first side of the body portion and configured to extend around the body portion to at least a second side of the body portion.   
     
     
         12 . The personal protection gown of  claim 11 ,
 further comprising a back opening comprising a first edge and a second edge,   wherein the neck gap is provided between the second edge and the first shoulder portion.   
     
     
         13 . The personal protection gown of  claim 10 , wherein the neck protector extension is configured to couple to the neck protector at the front of the body portion. 
     
     
         14 . The personal protection gown of  claim 10 , wherein the neck protector comprises a neck protector fastener configured to receive the neck protector extension fastener for coupling the neck protector extension to the neck protector. 
     
     
         15 . The personal protection gown of  claim 14 , wherein the neck protector fastener is provided above the first shoulder portion. 
     
     
         16 . The personal protection gown of  claim 15 , wherein the neck protector extension fastener is one of a button, a snap, an adhesive, and a hook and loop. 
     
     
         17 . A personal protection gown for protecting a user, comprising:
 a body portion comprising a front, a back, a neckline, a first shoulder portion, and a second shoulder portion;   a neck protector extending from the neckline of the body portion,   wherein the neck protector extends from the first shoulder portion around the front over the second shoulder portion to at least the back of the body portion;   a neck protector extension extending from the neck protector above the back of the body portion; and   an exterior fastener configured to couple the neck protector extension to the neck protector.   
     
     
         18 . The personal protection gown of  claim 17 ,
 wherein the neck protector extension extends from the neck protector at the back of the personal protection gown,   wherein the exterior fastener is configured to couple the neck protector extension to the neck protector above the first shoulder portion of the body portion.   
     
     
         19 . The personal protection gown of  claim 18 , wherein the exterior fastener is adhesive tape. 
     
     
         20 . The personal protection gown of  claim 19 ,
 wherein the neck protector extension extends from the neck protector directly above a first edge of the body portion, and   wherein the first edge of the body portion forms a back opening with a second edge of the body portion.
