Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A golf assist device, comprising:
 a support assembly including:
 a frame;
 a first belt extending from a first belt end to a second belt end, the first belt end and the second belt end being connected to a first side of the frame; and
 a second belt extending from a third belt end to a fourth belt end, the third belt end and the fourth belt end being connected to a second side of the frame, opposite the first side; and
   a strap assembly removably coupled to the support assembly, the strap assembly including:
 a first connecting structure connected with the second belt;
 a second connecting structure including a loop adapted to be engaged with a handle of a golf club;
 a strap connected with the first connecting structure and the second connecting structure, when the strap is extended, a first length from connection to the second belt to connection with the golf club is less than at least two times a second length of the second belt when the second belt is extended.

         2 . The golf assist device of claim 1 , wherein the first connecting structure includes a hook.

         3 . The golf assist device of claim 1 , wherein the loop is formed of an elastic cord.

         4 . The golf assist device of claim 1 , wherein the frame includes four outwardly extending arms, each arm including an opening for receiving one of the first belt end, the second belt end, the third belt end and the fourth belt end.

         5 . The golf assist device of claim 1 , wherein each of the first belt and the second belt include a buckle to adjust a length of the first belt and the second belt, respectively.

         6 . The golf assist device of claim 1 , wherein the first length is approximately equal to the second length.

         7 . The golf assist device of claim 1 , wherein the first length is less than 1.5 times the second length.

         8 . A golf assist device for assisting a person playing golf, comprising:
 a support assembly including a first belt adapted to be supported on a first shoulder of the person and a second belt adapted to be supported on a second shoulder of the person; and a strap assembly coupled to the support assembly, the strap assembly including:
 a strap connected to the second belt and configured to extend across a torso of the person, the strap extending proximate the second shoulder to a hand of the person connected to the first shoulder; and
 a loop connected to the strap and adapted to be engaged with a handle of a club and held by the person to assist in playing golf.

         9 . The golf assist device of claim 8 , wherein the strap is connected to the second belt with a hook.

         10 . The golf assist device of claim 8 , wherein the loop is formed of an elastic cord.

         11 . The golf assist device of claim 8 , wherein the support assembly includes a frame, the frame connected to the first belt on a first side of the frame and connected to the second belt on a second side of the frame, opposite the first side.

         12 . The golf assist device of claim 8 , wherein each of the first belt and the second belt include a buckle to adjust a length of the first belt and the second belt, respectively.

         13 . A method of using a golf assist device having a first belt, a second belt and a strap assembly connected to the second belt, comprising:
 positioning the first belt over a first shoulder of a person; positioning the second belt over a second shoulder of the person; extending the strap assembly across a torso of the person such that the person is able to grasp a loop of the strap assembly in a hand connected to the first shoulder.

         14 . The method of claim 13 , further comprising connecting a hook between the strap assembly and the second belt.

         15 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the loop is formed of an elastic cord.

         16 . The method of claim 13 , adjusting a length of the first belt and the second belt.
