Abstract

An earring apparatus for selectively displaying an attachment includes a base and an attachment. The attachment is selectively attachable to the base such that a periphery of the attachment aligns with a perimeter edge of the base. A hook is attached to the base and is insertable into a piercing hole in a body part of a user.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
I claim:

1 . An earring apparatus comprising:
a base having a front side, a rear side, and a perimeter edge, the perimeter edge extending from the front side to the rear side, an attachment being releasably couplable to the front side of the base in a use position, a periphery of the attachment being aligned with the perimeter edge of the base when the attachment is positioned in the use position; and a hook being coupled to the top end of the base, the hook having a thickness such that the hook is configured for inserting through a piercing hole in a body part of a user.

         2 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein:
the base comprises a magnetic element; and the attachment comprising a ferromagnetic material such that the attachment is magnetically adhered to the base when positioned in the use position.

3 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the front side is planar.

4 . The apparatus of claim 3 , wherein the rear side is planar and parallel to the front side.

5 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a junction between the perimeter edge and the rear side is rounded.

6 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the base has an elliptical shape.

7 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the base is elongated between a top end of the base and a bottom end of the base.

8 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the attachment is uniform.

9 . The apparatus of claim 1 , wherein a thickness of the attachment is less than a thickness of the base.

10 . The apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a connector being coupled to the hook and the base, the connector comprising a first closed loop and a second closed loop, the first closed loop and the second closed loop being interlocked.

11 . The apparatus of claim 10 , wherein the first closed loop is integrally formed with the hook, the second closed loop being integrally formed with the base.

12 . An earring apparatus comprising:
a base having a front side, a rear side, and a perimeter edge, the perimeter edge extending from the front side to the rear side, the base comprising a magnetic element, the front side being planar, the rear side being planar and parallel to the front side, a junction between the perimeter edge and the rear side being rounded, the base having an elliptical shape, the base being elongated between a top end of the base and a bottom end of the base; an attachment being releasably couplable to the front side of the base in a use position, a periphery of the attachment being aligned with the perimeter edge of the base when the attachment is positioned in the use position, the attachment comprising a ferromagnetic material such that the attachment is magnetically adhered to the base when positioned in the use position, a thickness of the attachment being uniform, the thickness of the attachment being less than a thickness of the base; a hook being coupled to the top end of the base, the hook having a thickness such that the hook is configured for inserting through a piercing hole in a body part of a user; and a connector being coupled to the hook and the base, the connector comprising a first closed loop and a second closed loop, the first closed loop and the second closed loop being interlocked, the first closed loop being integrally formed with the hook, the second closed loop being integrally formed with the base.
