Capsule apparatus for smoking material for use with a smoking implement

Abstract

A capsule apparatus for smoking the smoking material with a smoking implement such as a hookah includes a basket which holds smoking material in a bowl of a hookah. The capsule apparatus has malleable components for securing the basket to the bowl and forming a seal between the basket and the bowl. Rigid components are also provided for holding a heating element such as charcoal near but spaced from the smoking material. A liner is claimed which prevents the smoking material from sticking to a plate which holds the heating element.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A capsule apparatus for use with a smoking implement, the capsule apparatus comprising:
 a basket defining a cavity, the basket having a size such that the basket is configured to insert into a bowl of the smoking implement, the basket being air permeable, a rim of the basket defining an opening to the cavity;   a smoking material being contained in the basket;   a skirt being coupled to and extending outwardly from the basket, the skirt being positioned on the rim of the basket, the skirt comprising a malleable material such that the skirt is configured to conform to an exterior surface of the bowl of the smoking implement when the basket is positioned in the bowl to form a hermetic seal between the basket and the bowl and secure the basket to the bowl; and   a plate coupled to the basket, the plate covering the opening of the basket, the plate defining a plurality of holes in the plate such that the plate is air permeable, the plate having an upper surface configured for supporting charcoal.   
     
     
         2 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the basket comprises meshed wire. 
     
     
         3 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the basket has a dome shape. 
     
     
         4 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the cavity of the basket has a size such that the smoking material is positionable to be spaced from the plate. 
     
     
         5 . The apparatus of  claim 4 , further comprising a liner being removably mounted between the basket and the plate, the liner covering the opening of the basket, the panel being air impermeable. 
     
     
         6 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , further comprising a pull tab being coupled to and extending away from a perimeter edge of the liner. 
     
     
         7 . The apparatus of  claim 5 , further comprising a plurality of connectors being coupled to the basket, the skirt, and the plate, the plurality of connectors coupling the basket to the skirt and the plate, the plurality of connectors clamping the liner between the skirt and the basket. 
     
     
         8 . The apparatus of  claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of connectors being coupled to the basket, the skirt, and the plate, the plurality of connectors coupling the basket to the skirt and the plate. 
     
     
         9 . The apparatus of  claim 8 , wherein each connector of the plurality of connectors comprises a rivet. 
     
     
         10 . A capsule apparatus for use with a smoking implement, the capsule apparatus comprising:
 a basket defining a cavity, the basket having a size such that the basket is configured to insert into a bowl of the smoking implement, the basket being air permeable, a rim of the basket defining an opening to the cavity, the basket comprising meshed wire, the basket having a dome shape;   a smoking material being contained in the basket;   a skirt being coupled to and extending outwardly from the basket, the skirt being positioned on the rim of the basket, the skirt comprising a malleable material such that the skirt is configured to conform to an exterior surface of the bowl of the smoking implement when the basket is positioned in the bowl to form a hermetic seal between the basket and the bowl and secure the basket to the bowl;   a plate coupled to the basket, the plate covering the opening of the basket, the plate defining a plurality of holes in the plate such that the plate is air permeable, the plate having an upper surface configured for supporting charcoal, the cavity of the basket having a size such that the smoking material is positionable to be spaced from the plate;   a liner being removably mounted between the basket and the plate, the liner covering the opening of the basket, the panel being air impermeable;   a pull tab being coupled to and extending away from a perimeter edge of the liner; and   a plurality of connectors being coupled to the basket, the skirt, and the plate, the plurality of connectors coupling the basket to the skirt and the plate, the plurality of connectors clamping the liner between the skirt and the basket, each connector of the plurality of connectors comprising a rivet.
