Court Line Kit

Abstract

A sports line kit includes a plurality of tape lines, including longer lines that provide sidelines, medium length lines that provide baselines and kitchen lines, and shorter lines that provide service lines. Indicia are included on the tape lines for quick and convenient assembly of the sports court. Each tape line has one adhesive side and one slip-resistant side. In at least some embodiments, the kit further includes balls, paddles, rackets and/or a sports net. In at least some additional embodiments, the kit further includes a line gauge configured to measure the diagonal of a court assembled with the sports line kit.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A kit for constructing a sports court comprising:
 a package; and   a plurality of tape lines positioned in the package, the plurality of tape lines including longer length lines that provide sidelines, medium length lines that provide baselines and kitchen lines, and shorter lines that provide service lines, each of the plurality of tape lines including an adhesive side and an opposite slip-resistant side,   wherein indicia are included on the slip-resistant side of at least some of the plurality of tape lines to indicate connection locations to other of the plurality of tape lines, and   wherein the sidelines are a first color, the baselines are a second color that is different from the first color, and the service lines are a third color that is different from the first color and the second color.   
     
     
         2 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein the kit further includes a string line positioned in the package,
 wherein a total length of the string line is defined as c, 
 wherein a total length of one of the sidelines is defined as a, 
 wherein a total length of one of the baselines is defined as b, and 
 wherein a 2 +b 2 =c 2 . 
 
     
     
         3 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein the plurality of tape lines include two sidelines, four baselines, and two service lines. 
     
     
         4 . The kit of  claim 3  wherein a width of each of the plurality of tape lines is between one inches and four inches. 
     
     
         5 . The kit of  claim 4  wherein the sports court is a pickleball court,
 wherein the sidelines are between forty-three feet six inches and forty-four feet in length, 
 wherein the baselines are between nineteen feet six inches and twenty feet in length, and 
 wherein the services lines are between fourteen feet six inches and fifteen feet in length. 
 
     
     
         6 . The kit of  claim 5  further comprising a string line positioned in the package, wherein string line is between forty-eight and forty-eight and one-half feet in length. 
     
     
         7 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein a peel-away backing is arranged on the adhesive side of each of the plurality of tape lines. 
     
     
         8 . The kit of  claim 1  wherein the package is a box. 
     
     
         9 . The kit of  claim 8  further comprising at least two paddles and a net positioned in the box. 
     
     
         10 . The kit of  claim 9  further comprising printed instructions for assembly of the sports court positioned in the box. 
     
     
         11 . A kit for constructing a sports court comprising:
 a package; and   a plurality of tape lines positioned in the package, the plurality of tape lines including sidelines having a first length, baselines and kitchen lines having a second length that is less than the first length, and service lines having a third length that is less than the second length, each of the plurality of tape lines including an adhesive first side with a peel-away backing and a second side opposite the first side, wherein indicia are included on the plurality of tape lines to indicate connection locations to other of the plurality of tape lines; and   a string line positioned in the package, the string line having a fourth length that is greater than the first length.   
     
     
         12 . The kit of  claim 11  wherein the first side includes a pressure-sensitive adhesive and the peel-away backing is releasable from the pressure sensitive adhesive. 
     
     
         13 . The kit of  claim 11  wherein the second side is a slip-resistant side and indicia are included on the slip-resistant side of at least some of the plurality of tape lines. 
     
     
         14 . The kit of  claim 11  wherein each of the sidelines includes four indicia to indicate connection locations to the baselines and one center indicia, and wherein each of the baselines includes one center indicia. 
     
     
         15 . The kit of  claim 14  wherein the sidelines are primarily a first color, the baselines are primarily a second color that is different from the first color, and the service lines are primarily a third color that is different from the first color and the second color. 
     
     
         16 . The kit of  claim 15  wherein the four indicia on the sidelines are the second color. 
     
     
         17 . The kit of  claim 11  wherein two sidelines, four baselines, and two service lines are included in the package. 
     
     
         18 . The kit of  claim 17  wherein the sports court is a pickleball court, wherein two of the four baselines are kitchen lines for the pickleball court, and wherein the second side comprises a phosphor that radiates visible light after being energized. 
     
     
         19 . A kit for constructing a sports court comprising:
 a package; and   a plurality of tape lines positioned in the package, the plurality of tape lines including sidelines having a first primary color, baselines having a second primary color, and service lines having a third primary color, each of the plurality of tape lines including an adhesive side and an opposite side, the plurality of sidelines including first indicia defined by the second primary color, and the plurality of base lines including second indicia defined by the third primary color.   
     
     
         20 . The kit of  claim 19  wherein the opposite side of the plurality of tape lines includes a slip-resistant material, and wherein the first indicia and the second indicia have rectangular shapes.
