Abstract
A surface cleaner has a cyclone chamber wherein the air outlet comprises a screen. The screen is removably receivable in an expandable screen holder.

19 . A surface cleaner comprising:
(a) an air flow passage extending from a dirty air inlet to a clean air outlet; (b) an air treatment chamber positioned in the air flow passage, the air treatment chamber comprising an air inlet at an air treatment air inlet end of the air treatment chamber, an opposed end longitudinally spaced from the air inlet end, a longitudinal axis defining a longitudinal direction and extending through the air inlet end and the opposed end, and an air treatment air outlet comprising an air treatment chamber outlet port; (c) a physical filtration member positioned in the air treatment chamber upstream from the air treatment chamber outlet port, the physical filtration member comprising a longitudinal axis and an outer wall wherein at least a portion of the outer wall is porous; (d) a hair wrap defining a volume in which the physical filtration member is removably receivable wherein a size of the volume expands when the physical filtration member is inserted in the volume; and, (e) a suction motor positioned in the air flow passage downstream from the air treatment chamber.
20 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 19 wherein the size of the volume reduces when the physical filtration member is removed from the volume.
21 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 20 wherein the hair wrap comprises a plurality of hair wrap members.
22 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 21 wherein the air treatment chamber outlet port is provided in the air inlet end.
23 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 22 wherein air wrap members extend inwardly from the air inlet end and are secured together at an axially inner end of the hair wrap.
24 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 23 wherein the hair wrap members are planar.
25 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 24 wherein the hair wrap members comprise an elastomeric material.
26 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 25 wherein the air treatment chamber comprises a cyclone chamber.
27 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 26 wherein the porous filtration member comprises a screen.
28 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 25 wherein the porous filtration member comprises a screen.
29 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 19 wherein the hair wrap comprises a plurality of hair wrap members.
30 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 29 wherein the hair wrap members are planar.
31 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 29 wherein the hair wrap members comprise an elastomeric material.
32 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 31 wherein the air treatment chamber comprises a cyclone chamber.
33 . A surface cleaner comprising:
(a) an air flow passage extending from a dirty air inlet to a clean air outlet; (b) an air treatment chamber positioned in the air flow passage, the air treatment chamber comprising an air inlet at an air treatment air inlet end of the air treatment chamber, an opposed end longitudinally spaced from the air inlet end, a longitudinal axis defining a longitudinal direction and extending through the air inlet end and the opposed end, and an air treatment air outlet comprising an air treatment chamber outlet port; (c) a physical filtration member positioned in the air treatment chamber upstream from the air treatment chamber outlet port, the physical filtration member comprising a longitudinal axis and an outer wall wherein at least a portion of the outer wall is porous; (d) a cage defining a volume in which the physical filtration member is removably receivable, the cage comprising a plurality of elastomeric members whereby a size of the volume expands when the physical filtration member is inserted in the volume; and, (e) a suction motor positioned in the air flow passage downstream from the air treatment chamber.
34 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 wherein the size of the volume reduces when the physical filtration member is removed from the volume.
35 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 wherein the air treatment chamber comprises a cyclone chamber.
36 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 35 wherein the porous filtration member comprises a screen.
37 . The surface cleaning apparatus of claim 33 wherein the porous filtration member comprises a screen.
