Abstract

An aqueous laundry liquid detergent comprising a phosphorous based sequestrant, linear alkyl benzene sulphonate, alkyl ether sulphate surfactant and alkyl ethoxylate surfactant, wherein at least 5% wt. of the alkyl ethoxylate surfactant is C18 alkyl, at least 10% of the AE is C12, and at least 5% is C14, wherein the surfactants and sequestrants are at least partially neutralised by NaOH or KOH and are present as the Na or K salts.

1 . An aqueous laundry liquid detergent comprising a phosphorous based sequestrant, linear alkyl benzene sulphonate, alkyl ether sulphate surfactant and alcohol ethoxylate surfactant, wherein at least 5% wt. of the alcohol ethoxylate surfactant is C18 alkyl, at least 10% of the AE is C12, and at least 5% is C14, wherein the surfactants and sequestrants are at least partially neutralised by NaOH or KOH and are present as the Na or K salts. 
     
     
         2 . Composition according to  claim 1  wherein at least 10% wt. of the alcohol ethoxylate surfactant is C18 alkyl. 
     
     
         3 . Composition according to  claim 1  comprising from 0 to 0.5% wt. fatty acid. 
     
     
         4 . Composition according to  claim 1  wherein the sequestrant is 1-hydroxymethylene (1.1 diphosphonic acid). 
     
     
         5 . Composition according to  claim 1  comprising 0.2 to 10 wt % of the composition cleaning polymer. 
     
     
         6 . Composition according to  claim 5  wherein said cleaning polymer is selected from alkoxylate polyethylene imines, polyester soil release polymers and co-polymer of PEG/vinyl acetate. 
     
     
         7 . Composition according to  claim 1  comprising from 0.1 to 20% linear alkyl benzene sulphonate. 
     
     
         8 . Composition according to  claim 1  comprising enzyme. 
     
     
         9 . Composition according to  claim 1  wherein the C18 alcohol ethoxylate has an average of from 4 to 20 EO groups, preferably from 7 to 10. 
     
     
         10 . Composition according to  claim 1  having a viscosity of from 200 to 600 mPa·s. 
     
     
         11 . Composition according to  claim 1  wherein the weight ratio of alcohol ethoxylate surfactant to alkyl ether sulphate surfactant (wt alcohol ethoxylate/wt alkyl ether sulphate) is from 0.5 to 2, preferably from 0.7 to 1.5, most preferably 0.9 to 1.1. 
     
     
         12 . Composition according to  claim 7  wherein the weight ratio of alcohol ethoxylate surfactant to linear alkyl benzene sulphonate (wt alcohol ethoxylate/wt linear alkyl benzene sulphonate) is from 0.1 to 2, preferably. 0.3 to 1, most preferably 0.45 to 0.85.
