Powered wheeled board

Abstract

Various powered wheeled board vehicles are disclosed. In some embodiments, the vehicle includes a deck having a forward portion and a rearward portion. At least one front wheel can be connected with the deck under the forward portion. The front wheel can be configured to swivel about a first axis and rotate about a second axis. A powered wheel can be connected with the rearward portion. In some configurations, the rear wheel comprises a hub motor.

         2 . A surfboard-shaped wheeled board comprising:
 a deck comprising:
 a forward portion; 
 a rearward portion; 
 a middle portion between the forward portion and the rearward portion; 
 a longitudinal length; and 
 a lateral width measured at a midpoint of the longitudinal length; 
 wherein the forward portion comprises a triangular forward end that narrows to a pointed tip and wherein the rearward portion comprises a rearward end that is narrower than the lateral width; 
   a first caster wheel assembly connected with the deck under the forward portion, the first caster wheel assembly comprising a first caster wheel;   a second caster wheel assembly connected with the deck under the rearward portion, the second caster wheel assembly comprising a second caster wheel, a spring, and a wedge between the second caster wheel and the deck;   wherein the first and second caster wheels are configured to swivel and rotate; and   wherein the surfboard-shaped wheeled board is configured to maneuver in response to pressure from a user's feet.   
     
     
         3 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 2 , wherein the middle portion comprises left and right lateral sidewalls that bow outward relative to a longitudinal axis of the board. 
     
     
         4 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 2 , wherein the forward portion and the rearward portion are rigidly coupled. 
     
     
         5 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 2 , wherein the first and second caster wheels have a common diameter. 
     
     
         6 . A surfboard-shaped wheeled board comprising:
 a deck configured to support a user, the deck comprising:
 a forward portion having a triangular shaped front end; 
 a rearward portion rigidly coupled to the forward portion; and 
 a middle portion connecting the forward and rearward portions, wherein the rearward portion comprises a rearward end that is narrower than the middle portion; 
   a first wheel mounted beneath the forward portion and a second wheel mounted beneath the rearward portion, the first wheel being a caster wheel;   wherein the first wheel and the second wheel are mounted such that a line passing through the first wheel and the second wheel is parallel to a longitudinal axis of the surfboard-shaped wheeled board.   
     
     
         7 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 6 , further comprising a third wheel mounted beneath the forward portion, the third wheel being a caster wheel. 
     
     
         8 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 6 , wherein the deck is configured to turn in response to pressure from a user's feet. 
     
     
         9 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 6 , wherein the first wheel and the second wheel have a common diameter. 
     
     
         10 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 6 , wherein the deck comprises molded plastic. 
     
     
         11 . A wheeled board comprising:
 a surfboard-shaped deck configured to support a user, the deck comprising:
 a forward portion comprising a triangular shape that tapers to a pointed forward end; 
 a rearward portion that tapers to a rear end that is less pointed than the forward end; and 
 a sidewall that extends between the front end and the rear end and that curves outward relative to the forward portion and the rearward portion; 
   a first caster wheel connected to the deck; and   a second caster wheel connected to the deck;   wherein at least one of the first caster wheel and the second caster wheel is biased by a spring to provide self-centering.   
     
     
         12 . The wheeled board of  claim 11 , wherein the spring is a compression spring. 
     
     
         13 . The wheeled board of  claim 11 , wherein the first and second caster wheels are longitudinally aligned. 
     
     
         14 . The wheeled board of  claim 11 , wherein the sidewall curves outward to an apex. 
     
     
         15 . A surfboard-shaped wheeled board comprising:
 a deck configured to support a user, the deck comprising:
 a forward portion having a triangular shaped front end; 
 a rearward portion rigidly coupled to the forward portion; and 
 a middle portion connecting the forward and rearward portions, wherein the rearward portion comprises a rearward end that is narrower than the middle portion; 
 a longitudinal length; and 
 a lateral width measured at a midpoint of the longitudinal length; 
 wherein the rearward portion comprises a rearward end that is narrower than the lateral width; and 
   a first caster wheel and a second caster wheel, the first and second caster wheels mounted beneath the deck and configured to rotate and swivel.   
     
     
         16 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 15 , wherein the first caster wheel and the second caster wheel have a common diameter. 
     
     
         17 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 15 , wherein the deck further comprises a texturized upper surface. 
     
     
         18 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 15 , wherein the forward portion of the deck narrows to a pointed tip. 
     
     
         19 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 15 , wherein the rearward portion comprises an angled tail. 
     
     
         20 . The surfboard-shaped wheeled board of  claim 15 , wherein the deck further comprises a neck that is laterally narrower than the forward and rearward portions.
