Method and apparatus for managing provision of location information

Abstract

The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. The present subject matter refers to method and apparatus for managing provision (or, dissemination) of a location information of a client device. The method includes instructing a client device for sharing the location information; receiving the location information and a request for managing dissemination of the location information; receiving a list for managing dissemination of the location information from the client device. The method includes determining if the client device is authorized to request managing dissemination of the location information based on a client profile and managing dissemination of the location information to the one or more MCX service user in accordance with the list based on determination that the client device is authorized to request managing dissemination of the location information.

         16 . A method performed by a server in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
 receiving, from a client device, a request for restricting location information dissemination, wherein the request for restricting the location information dissemination includes first information indicating to enable or disable the location information dissemination and second information on at least one mission critical (MC) service identity (ID) of at least one MC service user; and   transmitting, to the client device, a response to the request for restricting the location information dissemination.   
     
     
         17 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the second information on the at least one MC service ID of the at least one MC service user indicates that restricting the location information dissemination is applicable for the at least one MC service user. 
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein the response includes third information indicating a result of restricting the location information dissemination. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 16 , further comprising:
 transmitting, to the client device, a configuration for a location information report or a request for the location information report; and   receiving, from the client device, location information of the client device.   
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 16 , wherein authority of the client device to restrict the location information dissemination is based on user profile data. 
     
     
         21 . A method performed by a client device in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
 transmitting, to a server, a request for restricting location information dissemination, wherein the request for restricting the location information dissemination includes first information indicating to enable or disable the location information dissemination and second information on at least one mission critical (MC) service identity (ID) of at least one MC service user; and   receiving, from the server, a response to the request for restricting the location information dissemination.   
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the second information on the at least one MC service ID of the at least one MC service user indicates that restricting the location information dissemination is applicable for the at least one MC service user. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the response includes third information indicating a result of restricting the location information dissemination. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 21 , further comprising:
 receiving, from the server, a configuration for a location information report or a request for the location information report; and   transmitting, to the server, location information of the client device.   
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein authority of the client device to restrict the location information dissemination is based on user profile data. 
     
     
         26 . A server in a wireless communication system, the server comprising:
 a transceiver; and   a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
 receive, from a client device, a request for restricting location information dissemination, wherein the request for restricting the location information dissemination includes first information indicating to enable or disable the location information dissemination and second information on at least one mission critical (MC) service identity (ID) of at least one MC service user, and 
   transmit, to the client device, a response to the request for restricting the location information dissemination.   
     
     
         27 . The server of  claim 26 , wherein the second information on the at least one MC service ID of the at least one MC service user indicates that restricting the location information dissemination is applicable for the at least one MC service user. 
     
     
         28 . The server of  claim 26 , wherein the response includes third information indicating a result of restricting the location information dissemination. 
     
     
         29 . The server of  claim 26 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 transmit, to the client device, a configuration for a location information report or a request for the location information report; and   receive, from the client device, location information of the client device.

         31 . A client device in a wireless communication system, the client device comprising:
 a transceiver; and   a controller coupled with the transceiver and configured to:
 transmit, to a server, a request for restricting location information dissemination, wherein the request for restricting the location information dissemination includes first information indicating to enable or disable the location information dissemination and second information on at least one mission critical (MC) service identity (ID) of at least one MC service user, and 
 receive, from the server, a response to the request for restricting the location information dissemination. 
   
     
     
         32 . The client device of  claim 31 , wherein the second information on the at least one MC service ID of the at least one MC service user indicates that restricting the location information dissemination is applicable for the at least one MC service user.

         34 . The client device of  claim 31 , wherein the controller is further configured to:
 receive, from the server, a configuration for a location information report or a request for the location information report; and   transmit, to the server, location information of the client device.
