Abstract
A selector assembly incorporated into the frame of an airsoft handgun that is operable to configure the airsoft gun in a semi-automatic or full-automatic firing mode. The selector assembly is operable to adjust the position of a disconnector and a sear such that the engagement surfaces of the disconnector and sear are configured to interact with the hammer and firing assembly such that one or multiple rounds are propelled down the barrel for each trigger engagement.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A device for selecting a fire rate of an airsoft gun actuating system, the device comprising:
a. a sear having a stop pawl on a top end, a lower cutout, and a lower engagement surface at the base of said lower cutout; b. a disconnector body having an engagement surface on a top end, a selector post on a first side, an engagement post and a wedge post on a second side, a trigger bar interface on a front surface, and a locking indent on a rear surface; and c. a frame having a channel operable to receive said disconnector body and a slot operable to receive said selector post and being operable to secure a trigger, a slide, a hammer and rotatably secure said sear.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said disconnector is in communication with said trigger on said trigger bar interface and is operable to translate with said trigger and rotate around said selector post when said trigger is engaged.
3 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said stop pawl is engaged with said disconnector wedge post in a semi-automatic configurations and is operable to disengage said stop pawl from a hammer tooth of said hammer when said trigger is engaged.
4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein said trigger is engaged and a round is discharged and said slide translates to the rear and a disconnector engagement surface engages with a blowback unit disconnector ramp and translates downward, thereby disengaging said stop pawl from said disconnector wedge post and said sear lower cutout engages with said disconnector engagement post.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said lower cutout engages with said disconnector engagement post, thereby positioning said stop pawl with a hammer tooth, and locking said hammer.

21 . The device of claim 1 , wherein said disconnector is operable to configure the sear in a semi-automatic and fully automatic firing position.
22 . A device configuring the firing mechanism of an airsoft gun, the device comprising:
a. a frame configured to support a firing assembly, including a trigger, a hammer, and a sear; b. a disconnector positioned within the frame, operable to engage the sear and regulate a firing mode; and c. a selector assembly operable to configure the disconnector and sear in at least a first firing mode and a second firing mode; wherein the disconnector and sear interact to selectively engage the hammer and control the release of the hammer in response to trigger activation.
23 . The device of claim 22 , wherein said selector assembly comprises a selector pin positioned in a slot of said frame and a spring operable to bias said selector pin into engagement with said disconnector.
24 . The device of claim 22 , wherein said selector assembly configures said disconnector in a semi-automatic mode by positioning said disconnector above a frame rail in said frame.
25 . The device of claim 24 , wherein said selector assembly configures said disconnector in a fully automatic mode by positioning said disconnector below a frame rail.
26 . The device of claim 25 , wherein said disconnector includes a selector post that extends through said frame slot and is operable to rotate said disconnector to configure a firing mode.
27 . The device of claim 22 , wherein said disconnector swivels around a mounting point within said frame in response to trigger activation.
28 . The device of claim 22 , wherein said disconnector and said sear are under spring tension to reset to an initial position after trigger release.
29 . A device for selectively configuring the firing mechanism of an airsoft gun, comprising:
a. a firing assembly including a disconnector, a sear, and a hammer housed within a frame; b. a selector operable to adjust the engagement between the disconnector and the sear to modify a firing rate; c. wherein the firing assembly is responsive to a trigger input to discharge a round, and the selector determines whether the firing mechanism operates in a single-shot mode or a continuous-fire mode.
30 . The device of claim 29 , wherein said selector comprises a selector pin configured to engage a locking indent on said disconnector to hold said disconnector in a firing configuration.
31 . The device of claim 29 , wherein said selector includes a spring-loaded mechanism to bias said selector pin into engagement with said disconnector.
32 . The device of claim 29 , wherein said disconnector includes a wedge post that engages with a lower pawl of said sear in a semi-automatic mode.
33 . The device of claim 29 , wherein said selector translates said disconnector downward to position said sear for continuous engagement with said hammer in a fully automatic mode.
34 . The device of claim 29 , wherein said disconnector rotates around a selector post in response to trigger actuation.
35 . The device of claim 29 , wherein said disconnector and said sear are biased by a spring such that said disconnector resets to a starting position after trigger disengagement.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
