Abstract
The present disclosure provides a method for manufacturing a metal component. The metal component includes; a body portion; and a flange. The method for manufacturing the metal component includes; bending a metal plate material to obtain a cylindrical body; and bending a first end of the cylindrical body toward a radial outside so as to enlarge its diameter to form the flange. Obtaining the cylindrical body includes bending the plate material and then welding both ends of the plate material that face each other. The method further includes cutting out a specified area of the cylindrical body, in which the flange is formed, in a circumferential direction.

1 . A method for manufacturing a metal component that comprises a body portion and a flange, the method comprising:
obtaining a cylindrical body that configures the body portion by bending a metal plate material; and obtaining the flange by bending and enlarging a diameter of a first end of the cylindrical body towards a radial outside, wherein obtaining the cylindrical body includes welding of both ends of the plate material that are formed to face each other by bending the plate material, wherein the method further comprises: cutting out a specified area of the cylindrical body in a circumferential direction in which the flange is formed.
2 . The method for manufacturing a metal component,
the metal component comprising: a body portion that extends in an axial direction and has a cross section including an arc-shaped area as perpendicular to the axial direction; and a flange that extends toward a radial outside from one end of the body in the axial direction, wherein the method comprises: obtaining a cylindrical body by bending the metal plate material; and bending one end of the cylindrical body toward a radial outside so as to enlarge its diameter,
in a case of obtaining the cylindrical body by welding of both ends of the plate material that are formed to face each other by bending the plate material, the method further comprises cutting out a specified area of the cylindrical body in a circumferential direction, the cylindrical body having one end enlarged in diameter.
3 . The method for manufacturing a metal component according to claim 2 ,
wherein the area of the cylindrical body that is cut out includes the welded both ends.
4 . The method for manufacturing a metal component according to claim 1 ,
wherein the metal component is an exhaust system component that is arranged in a flow path for exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine.
5 . The method for manufacturing a metal component according to claim 2 ,
