Abstract
A clip for a wall system that includes a base member and an inner clip. The base member is configured to be inserted into a hole defined by a frame. The inner clip is threaded into the base member and configured to engage a stud projecting from a panel to secure the panel to the frame. The clip is configured to adjust a distance between the panel and the frame by adjusting a position of the inner clip relative to the base member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A clip for a wall system, comprising:
a base member that is configured to be inserted into a hole defined by a frame; and an inner clip threaded into the base member and configured to engage a stud projecting from a panel to secure the panel to the frame, wherein the clip is configured to adjust a distance between the panel and the frame by adjusting a position of the inner clip relative to the base member.
2 . The clip of claim 1 , wherein the clip is configured to mount the panel to the frame such that a surface of the panel abuts a surface of the frame and the surface of the panel is substantially flush with the surface of the frame.
3 . The clip of claim 2 , wherein the base member includes a flange that is configured to abut the surface of the frame when the base member is inserted into the hole of the frame.
4 . The clip of claim 1 , wherein the inner clip is configured to create a friction with the stud to prevent removal of the stud from the inner clip below a desired force threshold.
5 . The clip of claim 1 , wherein the base member includes outer threading disposed along an outer surface of the base member, and wherein the outer threading of the base member is configured to engage the frame to secure the base member within the hole of the frame.
6 . The clip of claim 5 , wherein the base member defines a channel that includes inner threading, and wherein the inner clip includes outer threading that engages the inner threading of the base member to couple the inner clip to the base member.
7 . The clip of claim 6 , wherein coupling of the inner clip to the base member is maintained while adjusting the position of the inner clip relative to the base member such that at least a portion of the inner clip remains located within the channel of the base member.
8 . The clip of claim 1 , wherein the inner clip further defines one or more eyeholes located along an outer surface of the clip, and wherein the one or more eyeholes facilitate adjustment of the position of the inner clip relative to the base member.
9 . A fastener system, comprising:
a clip that includes:
a base portion configured to be coupled to a first member, and
an inner clip at least partially positioned within the base portion; and
a stud that is configured to be coupled to a second member, wherein a portion of the stud is configured to be received by the inner clip to secure the second member to the first member, wherein when the stud is received by the inner clip, the clip is configured to adjust a distance between the first member and the second member by adjusting a position of the inner clip relative to the base portion.
10 . The fastener system of claim 9 , wherein the stud is inserted into the inner clip to establish a friction fit between the stud and the inner clip.
11 . The fastener system of claim 9 , wherein the inner clip includes outer threading that engages inner threading of the base portion to movably secure the inner clip to the base portion.
12 . The fastener system of claim 11 , wherein the inner clip is configured to protrude from an upper surface of the base portion while still maintaining engagement between the outer threading of the inner clip and the inner threading of the base portion.
13 . The fastener system of claim 12 , wherein the inner clip is also configured to recess from the upper surface of the base portion while still maintaining engagement between the outer threading of the inner clip and the inner threading of the base portion.
14 . The fastener system of claim 12 , wherein the base portion is substantially cylindrical and defines a hollowed inner portion the receives the inner clip therein.
15 . The fastener system of claim 9 , wherein the first member is a frame of a wall system that is configured to be secured to a structure, and wherein the second member is a panel the is configured to be removably coupled to the frame via the fastener system.
16 . A clip of a wall system, comprising:
a base member that includes:
a cylindrical body defining a hollowed portion therein,
outer threading disposed along an outer surface of the cylindrical body,
inner threading disposed within the hollowed portion, and
a flange that extends away from the cylindrical body and at least partially forms an upper surface of the base member; and
an inner clip that includes:
a receiving portion that is configured to receive a portion of a stud therein, and
outer threading disposed along an outer surface of the inner clip, wherein the inner clip is at least partially located within the hollowed portion of the base member such that the outer threading of the inner clip engages the inner threading of the base member.
17 . The clip of claim 16 , wherein the inner clip defines one or more eyeholes that are located along an upper surface of the inner clip, and wherein a tool is configured to be inserted into at least a portion of the one or more eyeholes to rotate the inner clip relative to the base member to adjust a position of the inner clip relative to the base member.
18 . The clip of claim 17 , wherein the inner clip is movable relative to the base member such that the upper surface of the inner clip protrudes from the upper surface of the base member.
19 . The clip of claim 18 , wherein the inner clip is movable relative to the base member such that the upper surface of the inner clip is recessed from the upper surface of the base member.
20 . The clip of claim 16 , wherein the clip is configured to removable secure a panel of a wall system to a frame of the wall system, and wherein the clip is configured to be coupled to the panel or the frame.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
