Hair Weft Assembly
Abstract
The present invention discloses a system and method for securing one or more combinable hair weft extensions to a user's head. The system comprises a first weft base and a second weft base, each provided with a plurality of wig hair extensions. The first weft base has a plurality of first fastening members and the second weft base has a plurality of second fastening members. Each one of the first fastening members is operatively associated with a corresponding one of the second fastening members so as to secure the second weft base to the first weft base. The first and second fastening members are arranged so as to provide a partial overlap between the first and second weft bases. The first weft base further includes a first securing mechanism for securing the first weft base to the user's head.

3 . The hair weft assembly of claim 1 ,
wherein said filament is adjustable in length.
4 . The hair weft assembly of claim 1 ,
wherein said first securing mechanism comprises a plurality of clips arranged along the width of said first weft base, proximate to said top side of said first weft base.
5 . The hair weft assembly of claim 4 ,
wherein said clips are detachably coupled to said first side of said first weft base.
6 . The hair weft assembly of claim 2 ,
wherein said first securing mechanism further comprises a plurality of clips arranged along the width of said first weft base, proximate to said top side of said first weft base.
7 . The hair weft assembly of claim 6 ,
wherein said clips are detachably coupled to said first side of said first weft base.
8 . The hair weft assembly of claim 1 , further comprising:
At least one second hair weft comprising:
a second weft base having a first side, a second side, a top side, a bottom side, a right side, a left side and a width between said right side and said left side;
a second plurality of extension hairs attached to said second weft base, said second plurality of extension hairs attached at, or proximate to, said top side of said second weft base and extending along and below said second side of said second weft base; and
a plurality of second fastening members attached to said second side of said second weft base, each of said fastening members comprising one-half of a two-part snap fastener;
wherein, each one of said first fastening members is operatively associated with a corresponding one of said second fastening members so as to detachably secure said second weft base to said first weft base.
9 . The hair weft assembly of claim 8 ,
further comprising a second securing mechanism for securing said second weft base to said user's head, said second securing mechanism attached to said first side of said second weft base; and wherein said second securing mechanism comprises a plurality of clips.
10 . The hair weft assembly of claim 8 ,
wherein said width of said first weft base is greater than said width of said second weft base.
11 . A method of manufacturing a hair weft assembly, comprising:
providing a first weft base, said first weft base having a first side, a second side, a top side, a bottom side, a height between said top side and said bottom side, a right side, a left side and a width between said right side and said left side; attaching a first plurality of extension hairs to said first weft base, said first plurality of extension hairs attached at, or proximate to, said top side of said first weft base and extends along and below said second side of said first weft base; attaching a first securing mechanism to said first side of said first weft base, said first securing mechanism configured to secure said first weft base to said user's head; and attaching a plurality of first fastening members to said first side of said first weft base, each of said first fastening members comprising a one-half of a two-part fastener; wherein, said first fastening members are arranged below said first securing mechanism.
12 . The method of claim 11 ,
wherein said first securing mechanism comprises a flexible and durable filament having first and second ends, said first end attached proximate to said right side of said first weft base and said second end attached to proximate to said left side of said first weft base, and wherein said first weft base and said filament form a loop for encircling at least a portion of said user's head when worn.
13 . The method of claim 11 ,
wherein said filament is adjustable in length.
14 . The method of claim 11 ,
wherein said first securing mechanism comprises a plurality of clips arranged along the width of said first weft base, proximate to said top side of said first weft base.
15 . The method of claim 14 ,
wherein said clips are detachably coupled to said first side of said first weft base.
16 . The method of claim 12 ,
wherein said first securing mechanism further comprises a plurality of clips arranged along the width of said first weft base, proximate to said top side of said first weft base.
17 . The method of claim 16 ,
wherein said clips are detachably coupled to said first side of said first weft base.
18 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
providing a second weft base having a first side, a second side, a top side, a bottom side, a right side, a left side and a width between said right side and said left side; attaching a second plurality of extension hairs to said second weft base, said second plurality of extension hairs attached at, or proximate to, said top side of said second weft base and extending along and below said second side of said second weft base; and attaching a plurality of second fastening members to said second side of said second weft base, each of said fastening members comprising one-half of a two-part fastener; wherein, each one of said first fastening members is operatively associated with a corresponding one of said second fastening members so as to detachably secure said second weft base to said first weft base.
