Abstract

An inhalation device is configured to generate a vapour and/or aerosol to be inhaled by a user and includes an oven arranged to receive an amount of a flavour release medium, a power source to provide power to the oven to generate the vapour and/or aerosol by heating the flavour release medium, a controller, a body accommodating the oven, the power source, and the controller and providing an opening to the oven so as to allow for inserting an amount of a flavour release medium into the oven, and a cover arrangement including a cover lid arranged to at least in part close the opening and a driver arranged to move the cover lid between an opened and a closed position, and wherein the controller is configured to determine that the opening should be closed and to control the driver to move the cover lid toward the closed position.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An inhalation device configured to generate a vapour and/or aerosol to be inhaled by a user comprising:
an oven arranged to receive an amount of a flavour release medium, a power source to provide power to the oven to generate the vapour and/or aerosol by heating the flavour release medium, a controller, a body accommodating the oven, the power source, and the controller and providing an opening to the oven so as to allow for inserting an amount of a flavour release medium into the oven, and a cover arrangement comprising a cover lid arranged to at least in part close the opening and a driver arranged to move the cover lid between an opened position and a closed position, and wherein the controller is configured to determine that the opening should be closed and to control the driver to move the cover lid toward the closed position.

2 . The inhalation device according to claim 1 , further comprising a sensor arranged to detect at least an approximate position of the cover lid and to provide a corresponding position signal to the controller, the controller being configured to determine that the opening should be closed based on the position signal.

3 . The inhalation device according to claim 2 , wherein the sensor is a magnetic sensor, and wherein the cover lid is provided with a magnetic element configured to interact with the magnetic sensor.

4 . The inhalation device according to claim 1 , further comprising an operation element allowing a user to interact with the inhalation device, the operation element providing an operation signal, the controller being configured to determine that the opening should be closed further based on the operation signal.

5 . The inhalation device according to claim 4 , wherein the operation signal indicates a use of the inhalation device, the controller being configured to determine that the opening should be closed further based on the operation signal indicating no use of the inhalation device for a predetermined time.

6 . The inhalation device according to claim 2 , wherein the controller is configured to determine that the opening cannot be closed based on the position signal.

7 . The inhalation device according to claim 2 , wherein the controller is configured to determine that the opening cannot be closed when the position signal indicates a non-closed state of the cover lid after elapse of a predetermined first time span starting with the controlling the driver to move the cover lid toward the closed position.

8 . The inhalation device according to claim 7 , wherein the controller is configured to control the driver to stop moving the cover lid toward the closed position or to move the cover lid toward the open position when determining that the opening cannot be closed.

9 . The inhalation device according to claim 8 , wherein the controller is configured to again determine that the opening should be closed and to control the driver to move the cover lid toward the closed position after elapse of a predetermined second time span starting with stopping moving the cover lid toward the closed position or moving the cover lid toward the open position.

10 . The inhalation device according to claim 6 , wherein the controller is configured to control the driver to move the cover lid toward the opened position if when it was determined that the opening cannot be closed, and to retry to move the cover lid toward the closed position after elapse of a further predetermined time.

11 . The inhalation device according to claim 6 , further comprising an indicator urging a user to free the opening in response to the determination by the controller that the cover lid cannot be closed.

12 . The inhalation device according to claim 1 , wherein the driver comprises a motor and a cam in mechanical interaction with the cover lid, wherein the cam is provided with a magnet on an excentre position.

13 . The inhalation device according to claim 1 , further comprising a presence sensor arranged to detect presence of an amount of a flavour release medium in the oven.

14 . The inhalation device according to claim 1 , wherein the oven is arranged to receive and accommodate a replaceable article through the opening, wherein the replaceable article holds the amount of the flavour release medium.

15 . The inhalation device according to claim 1 , wherein the oven comprises an induction heating arrangement adapted to detect presence of an amount of a flavour release medium by a change in ac response properties.

16 . The inhalation device according to claim 3 , wherein the magnetic sensor is a Hall sensor.
