Abstract

The present apparatus is a heat focusing reflector that can either be built in by the manufacturer of the heater or an add-on attachment that can be installed by an end user to allow these types of heaters to project more heat to further distances. The heat focusing reflector will block heat from traveling all around these types of heater and will instead focus and/or reflect all of the heat to travel toward one side of the heater. By redirecting heat from these heaters and focusing the heat to travel longer distances away from the heater, these heaters can become more efficient and functional as an outdoor space heater.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A heater directional reflector comprising: one or more reflective members comprising a heat reflective material: one or more clamps or fasteners for joining the reflective member(s) to an existing column flame heater, wherein the reflective member directs heat from the existing heater in a desired lateral or nearly lateral direction with respect to the major axis of the column flame heater.

2 . The heater directional reflector of claim 1 wherein a plurality of reflective members may be hingedly or slidably coupled to one another and clamped or otherwise fastened to the column flame heater.

3 . The heater directional reflector of claim 1 wherein one or more reflective members are hingedly and/or slidably coupled to the column flame heater.

4 . The heater directional reflector of claim 1 further including a plurality of reflective members that can be joined together to form a larger reflective member.

5 . The heater directional reflector of claim 1 wherein the reflective member is of a size and shape to cover one or more of the four sides of the existing heater.

6 . The heater directional reflector of claim 1 wherein one or more of the reflective members may be intended to replace or attach over one or more of the existing safety grates on a column flame patio heater.

7 . The heater directional reflector of claim 1 wherein one or more reflective members may be adjustable to stow away when not in use and/or adjustable to change direction and/or intensity of the heat being reflected.

         8 . A heater directional reflector comprising:
one or more reflective members comprising a heat reflective material, wherein the reflective member makes part of the original manufactured design of a column flame heater and directs heat from the burner of the heater in a desired lateral or nearly lateral direction with respect to the major axis of the column flame heater.

9 . The heater directional reflector of claim 8 wherein one or more of the reflective members may be intended to replace or attach over one or more of the existing safety grates on a column flame patio heater.

10 . The heater directional reflector of claim 8 wherein one or more reflective members may be adjustable to stow away when not in use and/or adjustable to change direction and/or intensity of the heat being reflected.
