Abstract

A suspension system for an acoustic ceiling island platform, wherein the system comprises a plurality of carrier profiles each having at least a first recess, a plurality of main runners configured for being connected with the carrier profiles, and a plurality of attachment clips for connecting the main runners with the carrier profiles, wherein each attachment clip is configured for being connected to a main runner and comprises one or more protruding wing(s) configured for being positioned in the first recess of a carrier profile.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A suspension system for an acoustic ceiling island platform, wherein the system comprises
a plurality of carrier profiles each having at least a first recess, a plurality of main runners configured for being connected with the carrier profiles, and a plurality of attachment clips for connecting the main runners with the carrier profiles,
wherein each attachment clip is configured for being connected to a main runner and comprises one or more protruding wing(s) configured for being positioned in the first recess of a carrier profile.

2 . The suspension system according to claim 1 , wherein attachment clip comprises two parallel wings configured to engage the first recess.

3 . The suspension system according to claim 1 or 2 , wherein a width of the wing(s) of the attachment claim substantially corresponds to a width of the first recess of the carrier profile.

4 . The suspension system according to claim any of the preceding claims , wherein the wings are chamfered.

5 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein the attachment clip comprises a flat body, and the one or two protruding wing(s) is/are protruding perpendicularly to the flat body.

6 . The suspension system according to claim 5 , wherein the flat body has a thickness of 0.4 to 3 mm, preferably 0.6 to 2 mm, most preferably 0.8 to 1.2 mm.

7 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein the first recess extends along the longitudinal direction of the carrier profile.

8 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein the first recess is configured for holding a nut or a head of a bolt.

9 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein each attachment clip comprises a clip opening configured for receiving a shank of a bolt.

10 . The suspension system according to claim 9 , wherein the protruding wing(s) and the clip opening are positioned along a straight line.

11 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein at least some of the plurality of carrier profiles have a second recess opposite and/or parallel to the first recess.

12 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein the attachment clip is made of plastic or metal, preferably steel or aluminium.

13 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein each main runner at a lower edge comprises flanges configured for carrying ceiling tiles.

14 . The suspension system according to any of the preceding claims , wherein each main runner comprises a bulb at its upper edge, the attachment clip being configured to receive said bulb.

15 . An acoustic ceiling island platform comprising the suspension system according to any of the preceding claims and ceiling tiles carried by the main runners.

16 . The acoustic ceiling island platform according to claim 15 , wherein a plurality of the carrier profiles forms an outer frame profile of the ceiling island.

17 . The acoustic ceiling island platform according to claim 16 , wherein the carrier profiles forming the outer frame profile have the first recesses at their inner faces and smooth outer faces.
