Anti-Clog Assemblies
Abstract
An anti-clog assembly for a sink drain, comprising a filter part and a body, the filter part configured to be inserted into the body to place the assembly in an operable position, and to be at least partially withdrawn from the body to place the assembly in a maintenance position, the assembly configured to be positioned in-line in a drain. An anti-clog assembly for a faucet, comprising a filter part and a body, the filter part configured to be coupled to the body to place the assembly in an operable position, the filter part configured to be decoupled from the body to place the assembly in a maintenance position, and the assembly configured to be positioned in-line in an upstream source water line.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An anti-clog assembly for a sink drain, comprising
an inlet; an outlet; a filter part; and a body, wherein the filter part is configured to be inserted into the body to place the anti-clog assembly in an operable position, the filter part is configured to be at least partially withdrawn from the body to place the anti-clog assembly in a maintenance position, and the anti-clog assembly is configured to be positioned in-line in a drain assembly, downstream of a sink and upstream of a trap.
2 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the filter part is configured to be partially withdrawn from the body to place it in the maintenance position.
3 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the filter part comprises a mesh basket filter.
4 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , comprising a lever, wherein
the lever is configured to be rotated in a first direction to place the assembly in the operable position, and the lever is configured to be rotated in a second direction to place the assembly in the maintenance position.
5 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 4 , wherein
the lever comprises a pinion gear configured to mesh with a filter part pinion rack, and rotation of the lever provides for rotation of the pinion gear, providing for the insertion and the withdrawal of the filter part.
6 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , wherein
the filter part comprises one or arms and the body comprises one or more slots configured to receive the one or more arms, and the arms are configured to slidably move in the slots during the insertion and the withdrawal of the filter part.
7 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the filter part is configured to receive one or more O-rings, the O-rings configured to form a seal between the filter part and a body interior.
8 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the body and/or the filter part comprise an engineering thermoplastic.
9 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 1 , wherein the body comprises a substantially cylinder-like shape, and the filter part comprises a substantially piston-like shape.
10 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 9 , wherein the body substantially cylinder-like shape is orthogonal to the inlet and the outlet.
11 . An anti-clog assembly for a faucet, comprising
an inlet; an outlet; a filter part; and a body, wherein the filter part is configured to be coupled to the body to place the anti-clog assembly in an operable position, the filter part is configured to be decoupled from the body to place the anti-clog assembly in a maintenance position, and the anti-clog assembly is configured to be positioned in-line in a source water line upstream of the faucet.
12 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 11 , wherein when the anti-clog assembly is in the maintenance position, the faucet is disabled.
13 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 11 , comprising an adapter having an inlet water pathway to direct unfiltered source water to the filter part, and an outlet water pathway to direct filtered source water to the faucet.
14 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 13 , wherein in the operable position, the filter part is positioned in and coupled to a filter cover, and the filter cover is coupled to the adapter.
15 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 14 , wherein the filter cover is configured to be rotated in a first direction to decouple the filter cover and filter part from the adapter to place the assembly in the maintenance position.
16 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 15 , comprising a stationary ceramic disc and a rotatable ceramic disc, wherein rotation of the filter cover in the first direction provides for corresponding rotation of the adapter and the rotatable disc to place the assembly in the maintenance position.
17 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 16 , wherein the filter cover is configured to be rotated in a second direction to couple the filter cover and filter part to the adapter to place the assembly in the operable position.
18 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 17 , wherein rotation of the filter cover in the second direction provides for corresponding rotation of the adapter and the rotatable disc to place the assembly in the operable position.
19 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 14 , comprising a fixation ring configured to removably couple to the filter cover.
20 . The anti-clog assembly according to claim 19 , wherein the fixation ring comprises one or more tabs configured to removably couple to one or more tabs of the filter cover.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
