Abstract

A fibrous structure is disclosed. The fibrous structure may exhibit a plurality of discrete knuckles arranged in a pattern of repeat units. The repeat units can include a plurality of rows arranged such that distance between at least two adjacent discrete knuckles are non-uniform such that the repeat unit exhibits varying pillow width distances.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

. A fibrous structure, comprising: a plurality of discrete knuckles arranged in a pattern of repeat units, and wherein a first distance is formed between a first discrete knuckle and a second discrete knuckle, wherein a second distance is formed between the second discrete knuckle and a third discrete knuckle, and wherein a third distance is formed between the third discrete knuckle and a fourth discrete knuckle; wherein the first discrete knuckle is immediately adjacent to the second discrete knuckle, wherein the second discrete knuckle is immediately adjacent to the third discrete knuckle, and wherein the third discrete knuckle is immediately adjacent to the fourth discrete knuckle; and wherein the first, second, and third distances are different distances.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the first, second, and third discrete knuckles are in a first row.

. The fibrous structure of claim 2 , wherein the first row is oriented along one of either a Y-axis or an X-axis.

. The fibrous structure of claim 2 , a second row comprising a second plurality of knuckles is oriented along a different axis than the first row.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the discrete knuckles are cured resin.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the discrete knuckles are polymeric deposits.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the reinforcing element is a woven, porous web.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the discrete knuckles define an interconnected plurality of surround areas.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the discrete knuckles define a plurality of deflection conduits.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the first, second, and third discrete knuckles have a uniform-size.

. The fibrous structure of claim 2 , wherein the first row is oriented along the Y-axis.

. The fibrous structure of claim 2 , wherein the first row is oriented along the X-axis.

. The fibrous structure of claim 2 , wherein the first row is oriented along other than the X and Y-axis.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a generally radial pattern.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a series of concentric geometric shapes.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a cell in the form of a diamond.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a cell having a maximum X-direction dimension which defines an outer boundary in an X-direction.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a cell having a maximum Y-direction dimension, which defines an outer boundary in the Y-direction.

. The fibrous structure of claim 17 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a cell having a maximum Y-direction dimension, which defines an outer boundary in the Y-direction.

. The fibrous structure of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of discrete knuckles form a cell in the form of a hexagon.
