Recording medium processing apparatus and image forming system

Abstract

A recording medium processing apparatus includes a rotator that rotates a recording medium transported thereto about a normal to a surface of the recording medium.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A recording medium processing apparatus comprising:
 a rotator that rotates a recording medium transported thereto about a normal to a surface of the recording medium.   
     
     
         2 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 the rotator rotates the recording medium by using a rotating body that is rotatable about a rotary axis extending along the normal and rotates while holding the recording medium.   
     
     
         3 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 2 , wherein:
 the rotating body includes two rotating bodies and holds the recording medium by sandwiching the recording medium between the two rotating bodies from both sides of the recording medium.   
     
     
         4 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a pre-rotation transporter that transports the recording medium toward a place where the rotator is provided; and   a post-rotation transporter that transports the recording medium in a direction different from a transport direction in which the recording medium is transported by the pre-rotation transport unit after the recording medium is rotated by the rotator.   
     
     
         5 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a mover that causes the recording medium transported from an upstream side to the rotating unit to move in a crossing direction crossing a transport direction in which the recording medium is transported.   
     
     
         6 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 5 , wherein:
 the mover moves the recording medium in the crossing direction before the recording medium is rotated by the rotator.   
     
     
         7 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 6 , further comprising:
 a processor configured to set a movement amount by which the recording medium is moved by the mover,   wherein the processor is configured to set the movement amount on a basis of a position, in the crossing direction, of a midpoint of a side extending along the transport direction among sides of the recording medium transported to the rotator.   
     
     
         8 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein:
 in a case where the recording medium transported from an upstream side to the rotator is inclined with respect to a transport direction in which the recording medium is transported, the rotator increases or decreases an amount of rotation of the recording medium in accordance with the inclination of the recording medium.   
     
     
         9 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 8 , wherein:
 the rotator makes the amount of rotation of the recording medium smaller than a predetermined rotation amount in a case where the recording medium transported from the upstream side to the rotator is inclined so that a leading end portion of the recording medium in the transport direction in which the recording medium is transported is directed toward a downstream side in a direction in which the recording medium is rotated by the rotator; and   the rotator makes the amount of rotation of the recording medium larger than the predetermined rotation amount in a case where the recording medium transported from the upstream side to the rotator is inclined so that the leading end portion of the recording medium in the transport direction in which the recording medium is transported is directed toward an upstream side in the direction in which the recording medium is rotated by the rotator.   
     
     
         10 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a lower transport member that transports the recording medium by rotating and makes contact with a lower surface of a rotating recording medium, which is the recording medium that is rotating, when the recording medium is rotated by the rotator,   wherein when the recording medium is rotated by the rotator, the lower transport member is rotated.   
     
     
         11 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 10 , wherein:
 the lower transport member rotates so that a contact portion thereof that makes contact with the rotating recording medium moves toward a downstream side in a direction in which the rotating recording medium is rotated.   
     
     
         12 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 10 , wherein:
 the lower transport member rotates so that a contact portion thereof that makes contact with the rotating recording medium moves toward a side opposite to a side where the rotator is provided.   
     
     
         13 . The recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a pair of transport members that transport the recording medium and include an upper transport member located on an upper side and a lower transport member located on a lower side, the lower transport member being disposed at a position facing the lower surface of the recording medium that is rotating when the recording medium is rotated by the rotator;   an upper guide member that is disposed above a transport path along which the recording medium is transported by the pair of transport members and guides the recording medium; and   a lower guide member that is disposed below the transport path, faces the upper guide member, and guides the recording medium,   wherein a contact part between the upper transport member and the lower transport member is located closer to the upper guide member or the lower guide member than a midpoint of a straight line connecting the upper guide member and the lower guide member.   
     
     
         14 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 1 .   
     
     
         15 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 2 .   
     
     
         16 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 3 .   
     
     
         17 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 4 .   
     
     
         18 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 5 .   
     
     
         19 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 6 .   
     
     
         20 . An image forming system comprising:
 an image forming apparatus that forms an image on a recording medium; and   a recording medium processing apparatus that processes a recording medium on which an image has been formed by the image forming apparatus,   wherein the recording medium processing apparatus includes the recording medium processing apparatus according to  claim 7 .
