Container Lid With Container Engaging Features, Related Containers, Systems, And Methods

Abstract

A container for holding at least one article includes a body extending at least partially around an interior of the container, a closed bottom engaged with the body, and a reclosable lid engaged with the body, the reclosable lid including a base portion hingably connected to a lid portion, the base portion including at least one wall forming a body receiving space at least partially receiving the body of the container.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A container for holding at least one article, the container comprising:
 a body extending at least partially around an interior of the container;   a closed bottom engaged with the body; and   a reclosable lid engaged with the body, the reclosable lid including a base portion hingably connected to a lid portion, the base portion comprising at least one wall forming a body receiving space at least partially receiving the body of the container.   
     
     
         2 . The container of  claim 1 , wherein an upper marginal portion of the body is at least partially received in the body receiving space such that the reclosable lid is coupled to the body without adhesive. 
     
     
         3 . The container of  claim 2 , wherein the body comprises a paperboard material and the reclosable lid comprises a polymeric material. 
     
     
         4 . The container of  claim 3 , wherein the reclosable lid is reconfigurable between an open position, in which the lid portion is at least partially raised away from the base portion, and a closed position, in which the lid portion is at least partially received in the base portion. 
     
     
         5 . The container of  claim 4 , wherein a ledge extends from the at least one wall into the body receiving space, and the upper marginal portion of the body is at least partially curled in the body receiving space to contact the ledge. 
     
     
         6 . The container of  claim 4 , wherein the upper marginal portion comprises at least one weakened portion, and a ledge extends from the at least one wall into the body receiving space to at least partially separate the at least one weakened portion from the remainder of the body. 
     
     
         7 . The container of  claim 4 , wherein the reclosable lid further comprises at least one clamp pivotably coupled to the at least one wall so as to at least partially define the body receiving space. 
     
     
         8 . The container of  claim 7 , wherein the at least one clamp is pivotable between a raised position, in which the reclosable lid is generally freely separable from the body of the container, and a lowered position, in which the clamp presses an upper marginal portion of the body against the at least one wall. 
     
     
         9 . A combination for forming a container for holding at least one article, the combination comprising:
 body blank for forming a body extending at least partially around an interior of the container formed from the combination;   a bottom blank for forming a closed bottom engaged with the body of the container formed from the combination; and   a reclosable lid for being engaged with the body of the container formed from the combination, the reclosable lid comprising a base portion hingably connected to a lid portion, the base portion comprising at least one wall forming a body receiving space for at least partially receiving the body of the container formed from the combination.   
     
     
         10 . The combination of  claim 9 , wherein an upper marginal portion of the body blank is for being at least partially received in the body receiving space of the reclosable lid when the container is formed from the combination such that the reclosable lid is coupled to the body without adhesive when the container is formed from the combination. 
     
     
         11 . The combination of  claim 10 , wherein the body blank comprises a paperboard material and the reclosable lid comprises a polymeric material. 
     
     
         12 . The combination of  claim 11 , wherein the reclosable lid is reconfigurable between an open position, in which the lid portion is raised away from the base portion, and a closed position, in which the lid portion is at least partially received in the base portion. 
     
     
         13 . The combination of  claim 12 , wherein a ledge extends from the at least one wall into the body receiving space, and the upper marginal portion of the body blanks is for being at least partially curled in the body receiving space to contact the ledge when the container is formed from the combination. 
     
     
         14 . The combination of  claim 12 , wherein the upper marginal portion of the body blank comprises at least one weakened portion, and a ledge extends from the at least one wall into the body receiving space for at least partially separating the at least one weakened portion from the remainder of the body blank when the container is formed from the combination. 
     
     
         15 . The combination of  claim 12 , wherein the reclosable lid further comprises at least one clamp pivotably coupled to the at least one wall so as to at least partially define the body receiving space. 
     
     
         16 . The combination of  claim 15 , wherein the at least one clamp is pivotable between a raised position, in which the reclosable lid is generally freely separable from the body of the container, and a lowered position, in which the clamp is positioned for presses an upper marginal portion of the body against the at least one wall when the container is formed from the combination. 
     
     
         17 . A method of forming a container for holding at least one article, the method comprising:
 obtaining a body blank;   obtaining a bottom blank;   obtaining a reclosable lid comprising a base portion hingably connected to a lid portion, the base portion comprising at least one wall forming a body receiving space;   forming a body from the body blank such that the body extends at least partially around an interior of the container;   forming a closed bottom from the bottom blank and engaging the closed bottom with the body of the container; and   engaging the reclosable lid with the body of the container such that the body receiving space at least partially receives a portion of the body.   
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17 , further comprising positioning an upper marginal portion of the body at least partially received in the body receiving space such that the reclosable lid is coupled to the body without adhesive. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 18 , wherein the body blank comprises a paperboard material and the reclosable lid comprises a polymeric material. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 19 , wherein the reclosable lid is reconfigurable between an open position, in which the lid portion is at least partially raised away from the base portion, and a closed position, in which the lid portion is at least partially received in the base portion. 
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein a ledge extends from the at least one wall into the body receiving space, and the method comprises at least partially curling the upper marginal portion of the body in the body receiving space to contact the ledge. 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the upper marginal portion comprises at least one weakened portion, a ledge extends from the at least one wall into the body receiving space, and positioning the upper marginal portion of the body comprises positioning the upper marginal portion such that the at least one weakened portion is at least partially separated from the remainder of the body. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the reclosable lid further comprises at least one clamp pivotably coupled to the at least one wall so as to at least partially define the body receiving space. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 23 , wherein the at least one clamp is pivotable between a raised position, in which the reclosable lid is generally freely separable from the body of the container, and a lowered position, in which the clamp presses an upper marginal portion of the body against the at least one wall.
