Abstract
A stabilizer weight suspended from a user's shoulder to maintain a user's shoulders in substantial alignment when using an apparatus. The apparatus can further include a shoulder strap attached to a receptacle for holding the stabilizer weight. The shoulder strap can be positioned over a first shoulder between front and back body sides, and the receptacle being suspended in a position below the shoulder strap and adjacent to a first lateral body side. The apparatus can include a connecting portion between the shoulder strap and the anchor member.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A body stabilizer apparatus, comprising:
a body stabilizer weight; a shoulder strap attached to the body stabilizer weight, the shoulder strap configured to be positioned over a first shoulder, and the body stabilizer weight; the first shoulder being opposite a second shoulder from which an arm is extended to hold an apparatus, the stabilizer weight maintaining the first shoulder in alignment with the second shoulder during use of the apparatus.
2 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the stabilizer weight comprises a predetermined weight to apply a downward force on the first shoulder to counteract a moment arm created by the second arm being extended when using the apparatus.
3 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a receptacle attached to the shoulder strap; wherein when the stabilizer weight is held in the receptacle.
4 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , wherein when the stabilizer weight moves a body center of mass toward the first lateral body side.
5 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the stabilizer weight comprises weight sufficient to counteract the moment arm created by the second arm being extended when using the apparatus and maintain the first shoulder and the second shoulder in substantial alignment with each other.
6 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , wherein the stabilizer weight is a variable weight.
7 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a receptacle attached to the shoulder strap; wherein the receptacle is sized to hold the stabilizer weight.
8 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
an anchor member to secure the shoulder strap to the user's torso.
9 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 8 , wherein the anchor member comprises a waist connector engageable with a belt or a clothing portion.
10 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising a connecting portion secured to the shoulder strap and configured to span an upper back portion at least partially between the first shoulder and the second shoulder.
11 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 8 , wherein at least one of the shoulder strap or the anchor member is adjustable in length.
12 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 1 , further comprising:
a receptacle attached to the shoulder strap, the receptacle having a first side and a second side; wherein when the stabilizer weight is placed within the receptacle; wherein the shoulder strap is secured at one end to the first side of the receptacle and at another end to a second side of the receptacle.
13 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 12 , wherein:
the first receptacle attachment portion is attached to a first receptacle face; and the second receptacle attachment portion is attached to a second receptacle face opposite the first receptacle face.
14 . A body stabilizer apparatus, comprising:
a body stabilizer weight; a tether for positioning on a top surface of a first shoulder; a receptacle secured to the tether, the receptacle being of a size and shape to hold the body stabilizer weight and position the weight below the first shoulder and adjacent to a first lateral side of a user's body; the first shoulder being opposite a second shoulder from which an arm extends to hold an apparatus, the body stabilizer weight of sufficient weight to maintain the first shoulder in substantial alignment with the second shoulder during use of the apparatus.
15 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 14 , wherein the receptacle opening is closeable.
16 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 14 , further comprising:
a connecting portion secured to the tether, the connecting portion configured to span an upper back portion at least partially between the first shoulder and the second shoulder.
17 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the stabilizer weight moves a body center of mass toward the first lateral body side.
18 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 16 , further comprising a vest, wherein the tether is integrated within an interior of the vest.
19 . The body stabilizer apparatus of claim 16 , wherein the stabilizer weight comprises one of the following: gear, equipment, a quiver, binoculars, or a rangefinder.
20 . A method of using a body stabilizer apparatus, the method comprising:
placing a body stabilizer device including a weight on the top of a user's first shoulder, the body stabilizer device having a shoulder strap to position the weight on the user's first shoulder; adding a stabilizer weight to the body stabilizer, the stabilizer weight being suspended from the first shoulder via the strap; and holding an apparatus to be used with an arm extending from a second shoulder; applying a downward force on the first shoulder via the weight while holding the apparatus to maintain the first shoulder in alignment with the second shoulder during use of the apparatus.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
