Cooling tank for hot regions
Abstract
This invention provides a device for cooling water, which is supplied hot from rooftop tank or municipal network, in hot regions. It is comprised of an inner tank placed inside an outer main tank with a source and means of water supply from water inside the outer main tank. The inner tank water is exposed to the outside air and wind and cools by evaporative cooling, which in turn cools the water in the outer main tank, without mixing or contamination. The device is insulated and equipped with means for cleaning. The invention presented here in three embodiments, namely a stand-alone cooling tank, a retrofit to an existing tank and a dual-purpose tank for water storage with cooling feature.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat claimed is:
1 . A device for providing a supply of cool water, comprising:
a sealed integrated tank with first inner tank inside another, second outer tank: a water supply to the first tank from the second tank, wherein the first tank is exposed to outside air and wind and the water in the first tank is sealed off from the water in the second outer tank to prevent contamination.
2 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a drain serving the second tank.
3 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a drain serving the first tank for cleaning.
4 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a float valve in the first tank for water supply from the second tank.
5 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a shut-off valve in the first tank for water supply from the second tank.
6 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising an air vent valve in the second tank.
7 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a fan directed at the water in the first tank.
8 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising a well-vented cover.
9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the integrated tank is sealed to receive water at elevated head pressure.
10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the thickness, material and shape of the integrated tank is designed according to the water supply pressure.
11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the second tank further configured for water storage.
12 . The device of claim 1 , further comprising thermal insulation outside the integrated tank body.
13 . A device for retrofitting an existing tank, comprising:
a new tank configured to be fitted inside an existing tank; and a water supply to the new tank from the existing tank, wherein the new tank water is exposed to outside air and the water in the existing tank is sealed off from the water inside the new tank.
14 . The device of claim 13 , further comprising a low-pressure one-way valve configured for filling the new tank from the water in the existing tank.
15 . The device of claim 13 , further comprising a shut-off valve in the new tank for water supply from the existing tank.
16 . The device of claim 13 , further comprising a fan directed at the water in the new tank.
17 . The device of claim 13 , further comprising thermal insulation around the existing tank.
18 . A method of making new tank with a cooling feature, comprising:
providing a standard tank with a largest rim opening and with a large evaporative cooling inner tank, wherein the inner tank water exposed to the outside air and wind and the water in the standard tank is sealed off from the water inside the inner tank.
19 . The device of claim 18 , further comprising a low-pressure one-way valve configured for filling the inner tank from the water in the standard tank.
20 . The device of claim 18 , further comprising a shut-off valve in the inner tank for water supply from the standard tank.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
