Electronic smoking device with a liquid reservoir that allows the addition of additives

Abstract

An electronic smoking device ( 10 ) is provided including a power supply ( 18 ), a liquid reservoir ( 34 ) storing a liquid, and an atomizer ( 26 ) adapted to atomize liquid stored in the liquid reservoir ( 34 ) when operated by the power supply ( 18 ). The liquid reservoir ( 34 ) is configured to allow addition of additives ( 50 ) to liquid stored in the liquid reservoir ( 34 ).

         16 . An electronic smoking device comprising:
 a power supply;   a first liquid reservoir storing a first liquid;   a second liquid reservoir storing a second liquid;   a piezo atomizer configured to atomize the first liquid stored in the first liquid reservoir when operated by the power supply.   
     
     
         17 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 16 , wherein the first liquid and the second liquid are the same type of liquid. 
     
     
         18 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 17 , wherein the first liquid and the second liquid include a liquid selected from the group consisting of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin. 
     
     
         19 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 16 , wherein the first liquid and the second liquid are different types of liquids. 
     
     
         20 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 16 , wherein one or more of the first and second liquid reservoirs are configured to be refillable. 
     
     
         21 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 16 , wherein one or more of the first and second liquid reservoirs are configured to be non-refillable. 
     
     
         22 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 16 , wherein the first reservoir is in fluid communication with the second reservoir via a closeable opening. 
     
     
         23 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 22 , wherein the closeable opening includes a valve. 
     
     
         24 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 23 , wherein the valve is configured to be actuated by a user. 
     
     
         25 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 24 , wherein a predetermined amount of the second liquid is supplied to the first liquid reservoir in response to the valve being actuated by the user. 
     
     
         26 . An electronic smoking device comprising:
 a power supply;   a first liquid reservoir storing a first liquid;   a second liquid reservoir storing a second liquid;   a piezo atomizer configured to atomize the first liquid stored in the first liquid reservoir when operated by the power supply, wherein the first and second liquid reservoirs are configured to allow addition of the second liquid stored in the second liquid reservoir to the first liquid stored in the first liquid reservoir.   
     
     
         27 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 26 , wherein the first reservoir is in fluid communication with the second reservoir via a closeable opening. 
     
     
         28 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 27 , wherein the closeable opening includes a valve. 
     
     
         29 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 28 , wherein the valve is configured to be actuated by a user. 
     
     
         30 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 29 , wherein a predetermined amount of the second liquid is supplied to the first liquid reservoir in response to the valve being actuated by the user. 
     
     
         31 . The electronic smoking device of  claim 26 , wherein one or more of the first and second liquid reservoirs are configured to be refillable.
