Abstract
A firearm securement system for retaining a firearm adjacent to a wrist of a user includes a cord is configured to attach to the firearm. The cord is positionable to form a closed loop, and an inner dimension of the closed loop has a size such that the closed loop is configured for receiving the wrist of the user. An adjustment member is slidably mounted on each of a pair of end portions of the cord such that the adjustment member is movable to adjust the inner dimension of the closed loop.

6 . A firearm securement system comprising:
a firearm, the firearm comprising a grip which has a size such that the grip is configured to be grasped by a hand of a user; a lanyard loop, the lanyard loop being positioned on a bottom end of the grip, the lanyard loop being planar and extending perpendicularly outward from a back side of the grip such that the lanyard loop is coplanar with a barrel of the firearm; a cord being coupled to the firearm adjacent to the grip, the cord being positionable to form a closed loop, an inner dimension of the closed loop having a size such that the closed loop is configured for receiving a wrist of the user, the cord being threaded through the lanyard loop; and an adjustment member being slidably mounted on each of a pair of end portions of the cord such that the adjustment member is movable to adjust the inner dimension of the closed loop.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the adjustment member comprises:
a first member having a first slot extending through the first member, the first slot receiving the pair of end portions of the cord, the first member defining a channel which is in fluid communication with and extends transversely to the first slot, the channel having an open end and a closed end; a second member being received into the channel of the first member through the open end, the second member having a second slot extending through the second member, the second slot receiving the pair of end portions of the cord, the second member being biased to move the second slot out of alignment with the first slot such that the cord is clamped between the first member and the second member; and a bias member engaging the first member and the second member to move the second slot out of alignment with the first slot.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the bias member is a compression spring, the bias member being positioned in the channel of the first member between the second member and the closed end of the channel.
