Abstract
A portable offshore oil rig including an above water walking platform, a central pipe, a collapsible basket made of pipes forming a frame, flotation devices, a gliding jointed box, a central jointed box, and corner jointed boxes which connect the pipes to form the frame. When collapsed for movement, the entire oil rig falls within the footprint of the above water walking platform.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A portable offshore oil rig, comprising a central drilling pipe, a walking platform, a frame made of pipes forming a collapsible basket, and flotation devices, wherein the collapsible basket is formed using a gliding joined box, a central jointed box, and corner jointed boxes to connect the pipes of the frame.
2 . The portable offshore oil rig of claim 1 , further comprising:
a. a first array of magnets symmetrically arranged on the central pipe with the north and south poles of the magnets extending in parallel to the central pipe, the magnets being fastened to the central pipe such that the orientation of the magnetic poles of the magnets can be reversed; and b. a second array of magnets symmetrically arranged within the gliding box with the north and south poles of the magnets aligned with the poles of the magnets of the first array of magnets so that the magnets repel each other, the magnets being fastened to the gliding box such that the orientation of the magnets poles of the magnets can be reversed.
3 . The portable offshore oil rig of claim 1 , wherein the dimensions of the collapsible basket and floats are such that the footprint of the entire rig, when collapsed, falls within the footprint of the walking platform.
4 . The portable offshore oil rig of claim 1 , wherein the flotation devices include main flotation devices and secondary flotation devices connected to each other by a container which is sufficient to hold the secondary flotation device when collapsed for moving the oil rig.
5 . The portable offshore oil rig of claim 1 , wherein the central pipe is a drill string.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
