Abstract
This invention pertains to a device to secure a door chock to an industrial helmet. More particularly, this invention is a set of fixed and adjustable adapters with which to attach a door chock to a traditional or modern style firefighting helmet with a brim facing upward, downward, or parallel to the ground.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A device to secure a door chock to an industrial helmet comprising:
an L-shaped body having a relatively flat planar vertical section and a relatively flat planar horizontal section; a clamp; an adapter; means in which to secure said L-shaped body to said adapter; means in which to secure said adapter to said clamp.
2 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein said helmet is a traditional firefighter's helmet having an upward brim.
3 . The device according to claim 2 , wherein said adapter is a fixed horizontal adapter;
wherein said means of securing said horizontal adapter to said clamp is by screw; wherein said means of securing said horizontal adapter to said L-shaped body is by two screws through two holes of the horizontal adapter body and two holes through the L-shaped body planar vertical section.
4 . The device according to claim 1 , wherein said helmet is a modern firefighter's helmet having a downward brim.
5 . The device according to claim 4 , further comprising:
a clevis; means in which to secure said adapter to said clevis; and means in which to secure said clevis to said clamp.
6 . The device according to claim 5 , wherein said adapter is a vertical adjustable adapter;
wherein said means of securing said vertical adjustable adapter to said L-shaped body is by two screws through two holes of the vertical adjustable adapter body and two holes through the L-shaped body planar vertical section; wherein said means of securing said adapter to said clevis is by a screw in an attachment hole of the vertical adjustable adapter and an attachment hole in the clevis; and wherein said means of securing said clevis to said c clamp is by a screw through a slot in the clevis.
7 . The device according to claim 5 , wherein said adapter is a horizontal adjustable adapter;
wherein said means of securing said horizontal adjustable adapter to said L-shaped body is by two screws through two holes of the horizontal adjustable adapter body and two holes through the L-shaped body planar vertical section; wherein said means of securing said adapter to said clevis is by a screw in an attachment hole of the horizontal adjustable adapter and an attachment hole in the clevis; wherein said means of securing said clevis to said c clamp is by a screw through a slot in the clevis.
8 . The device according to claim 5 , wherein said adapter is a universal adjustable adapter;
wherein said means of securing said universal adjustable adapter to said L-shaped body is by two screws through two holes of the vertical adjustable adapter body and two holes through the L-shaped body planar horizontal section; wherein said means of securing said adapter to said L-shaped body planar horizontal section is by a screw through one of three holes in the body of the universal adjustable adapter through the elongated mounting bore hole of the planar horizontal section of the L-shaped body. wherein said means of securing said adapter to said clevis is by a screw in an attachment hole of the universal adjustable adapter and an attachment hole in the clevis; and wherein said means of securing said clevis to said c clamp is by a screw through a slot in the clevis.
9 . The device according to claim 6 , in which the adapter is secured to the clevis at such an angle that the planar vertical section of the L-shaped body is parallel or nearly parallel to the bell of the helmet.
10 . The device according to claim 7 , in which the adapter is secured to the clevis at such an angle that the planar vertical section of the L-shaped body is parallel or nearly parallel to the bell of the helmet.
11 . The device according to claim 8 , wherein the adapter is secured to the clevis at such an angle that the planar vertical section of the L-shaped body is parallel or nearly parallel to the bell of the helmet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
