Jacket projectile
Abstract
A jacket projectile, in particular an armor-piercing projectile, for ammunition, in particular with a caliber of less than 13 mm, may include a core, a jacket, in particular tapering ogive-like and surrounding the core, and a guide shoe arranged between the core and the jacket. The material of the jacket and the guide shoe may be matched to one another in such a way that a quotient of a modulus of elasticity/density ratio(Eguideshoeρguideshoe)of the guide shoe to a modulus of elasticity/density ratio(Ecoreρcore)of the core is greater than 0.5, in particular greater than 0.55 or greater than 0.6.
Claims

4 . A jacket projectile for ammunition, comprising:
a core; a jacket and surrounding the core; and a guide shoe arranged between the core and the jacket, wherein:
a length of the core in a longitudinal direction of the projectile of 50% to 95% of a total projectile length; and/or
a length/diameter ratio of the core is 3 to 7.
5 . A jacket projectile for ammunition, comprising:
a core; a jacket and surrounding the core; and a guide shoe arranged between the core and the jacket; wherein a first minimum wall thickness of the guide shoe in a portion of a cylindrical hull section is 10% to 20% of a maximum core diameter.
6 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein the guide shoe has a rear-sided bottom, wherein a first section of the rear-sided bottom tapers against a direction of flight, a second minimum wall thickness of the first section of the rear-sided bottom being at least 90% of the first minimum wall thickness of the guide shoe.
7 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein a second section of the guide shoe forming one end of the guide shoe has a third wall thickness of at least 100% of the core diameter.
8 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein a length of the guide shoe in a longitudinal direction of the projectile; is at least 100% of a caliber diameter of the jacket projectile, and/or corresponds to at least one length of the core in the longitudinal direction of the projectile.
9 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein bottom faces of the core, jacket, and guide shoe are adapted to lie on top of one another, be oriented transversely to a longitudinal direction of the projectile, and be pressed against one another.
10 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein the core comprises a rear-sided rear section which tapers against a direction of flight and which is arranged at a constant distance from a tail section.
11 . The jacket projectile according to claim 10 , wherein the constant distance is 0.025 mm to 0.6 mm.
12 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein: the guide shoe and the jacket are made from one piece; or the core and the guide shoe are made from one piece.
13 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein the jacket is formed in two parts and/or has a hull-like.
14 . The jacket projectile according to claim 5 , wherein the jacket comprises a cylindrical, rear part and a front part connected thereto, the core being encapsulated by the front part and the rear part.
15 . The jacket projectile according to claim 2 , wherein the guide show is adapted to dampen vibrations of the core based on a matching of the modulus of elasticity/density ratio
