Laundry treating apparatus

Abstract

The present disclosure relates to a laundry treating apparatus including a cabinet, an accommodating portion disposed inside the cabinet to accommodate laundry therein, and a control panel disposed in the cabinet and including an output area where a screen is output and a button manipulated by a user, wherein the control panel includes a central portion including the output area and having straight edges, and a side portion positioned at each of two lateral ends of the central portion and having a curved edge, wherein the straight edges and the curved edge are connected to each other via a pair of connecting points, wherein a boundary line of the central portion and the side portion is defined to pass through the pair of connecting points, wherein at least a portion of the button is positioned on the side portion.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A laundry treating apparatus comprising:
 a cabinet;   an accommodating portion disposed inside the cabinet to accommodate laundry therein; and   a control panel disposed in the cabinet and including an output area where a screen is output and a button manipulated by a user,   wherein the control panel includes:
 a central portion including the output area and having straight edges; and 
 a side portion positioned at each of two lateral ends of the central portion and having a curved edge, 
   wherein the straight edges and the curved edge are connected to each other via a pair of connecting points,   wherein a boundary line of the central portion and the side portion is defined to pass through the pair of connecting points,   wherein at least a portion of the button is positioned on the side portion.   
     
     
         2 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the portion of the button is positioned on the side portion and a remaining portion thereof is positioned on the central portion. 
     
     
         3 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein a vertical center line of the button is defined to be perpendicular to a width direction of the cabinet and pass through a center of the button, and is located on the side portion. 
     
     
         4 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the boundary line of the central portion and the side portion crosses the button. 
     
     
         5 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the central portion is defined in a square shape with the straight edges and each boundary line,
 wherein the side portion is defined in a semicircular shape with the curved edge and the boundary line.   
     
     
         6 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the side portion includes a first side portion located on one of the two lateral ends of the central portion and a second side portion located on the other thereof,
 wherein the button includes a first button at least partly located on the first side portion and a second button at least partly located on the second side portion.   
     
     
         7 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 6 , wherein the first button corresponds to a power button for supplying or cutting off power to the control panel,
 wherein the second button corresponds to an execution button for performing or pausing a course for treating the laundry.   
     
     
         8 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the output area is positioned to be spaced apart from the boundary line along a width direction of the cabinet. 
     
     
         9 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein a vertical center line of the button is positioned at a midpoint of a shortest distance between an outermost end of the side portion and the output area based on a width direction of the cabinet. 
     
     
         10 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the central portion includes an outer area located outward of the output area. 
     
     
         11 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 10 , wherein a width of a portion of the outer area located in a horizontal direction of the output area is greater than a width of a portion of the outer area located in a vertical direction of the output area. 
     
     
         12 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein a width of the output area defined based on a width direction of the cabinet is equal to or greater than ½ times and equal to or smaller than ⅔ times a width of the control panel. 
     
     
         13 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein a width of the output area defined based on a width direction of the cabinet is equal to or greater than 2 times a shortest distance between an outermost end of the side portion and the output area. 
     
     
         14 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 1 , wherein the button is disposed outside the output area in the control panel and is of a touch type. 
     
     
         15 . The laundry treating apparatus of  claim 14 , wherein the boundary line of the central portion and the side portion crosses a touch area of the button.
