Modular Furniture Assembly
Abstract
A modular furniture assembly has a modular universal base, an armrest module, and a modular recliner. The armrest is modularly coupled to one side of the modular universal base and includes an armrest member, a stepped member, a base horizontal member, and a base vertical plate. The modular recliner is coupled to another side of the modular universal base, and includes a recliner base and a backrest module. The recliner base has a plurality of frames that are interconnected and mechanically attached to each other. The recliner base includes a recessed surface that forms a transverse gap within the recliner base, and a top support having a flat top surface aligned with top edges of the plurality of frames. The backrest module has two backrest sections with end plates configured to move, respectively, along the recessed surface.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 20 . (canceled)
21 . A modular furniture assembly comprising:
an armrest module modularly coupled to another module, the armrest module having
an armrest member configured to receive a user arm when a user is in a seated position,
a base horizontal member generally parallel to and lower than the armrest member, and
a base vertical plate covering an empty internal space between the base horizontal member and a bottom end of the armrest module; and
a modular recliner modularly coupled to the armrest module or to the another module, the modular recliner having
a recliner base having a top support having a flat top surface aligned with top edges of the plurality of frames, the top support having at least two sandwiched frame layers including a top frame layer and a bottom frame layer, the at least two sandwiched frame layers having an internal space for reducing weight of the modular recliner, and
a backrest module.
22 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 21 , wherein the recliner base further has a pair of frame structures that includes a left frame structure and a right frame structure.
23 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 22 , wherein the left frame structure is directly attached to the left frame member.
24 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 23 , wherein the right frame structure is directly attached to the right frame member.
25 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 22 , wherein each frame structure of the pair of frame structures has a top member connected to a bottom member.
26 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 25 , wherein the top member is connected to the bottom member via an internal member.
27 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 25 , wherein the pair of frame structures includes a first frame structure and a second frame structure, the first frame structure having a first internal member and the second frame structure having a second internal member.
28 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 27 , wherein a pair of transverse members attaches the first internal member to the second internal member.
29 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 21 , further comprising a connector coupling the modular recliner to the another module.
30 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 29 , wherein the connector is a pivotable connector.
31 . A modular furniture assembly comprising:
an armrest module having a stepped member configured to receive a user head when the user is in a lying down position, the stepped member being generally horizontal; an insertion connector attached directly to the armrest module, the insertion connector having a bent end; a modular recliner having
a recliner base having a top support having at least two sandwiched frame layers including a top frame layer and a bottom frame layer, and
a backrest module; and
a receiving connector attached to the modular recliner, the receiving connector having a mounting space in which the bent end of the insertion connector is received.
32 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 31 , wherein the bent end is a free end.
33 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 32 , wherein the bent end is at a non-parallel angle relative to a direction in which the bent end is received in the mounting space.
34 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 32 , wherein the insertion connector has an insertion plate that is offset from and parallel to an attachment plate, the bent end extending from the insertion plate.
35 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 32 , wherein the direction in which the 35 end is received in the mounting space is generally parallel to the insertion plate.
36 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 33 , wherein the receiving connector has two sides connected via a retaining side.
37 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 36 , wherein the retaining side has a c-shaped profile.
38 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 36 , wherein at least one of the two sides has at least one connector attachment hole.
39 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 36 , wherein the receiving connector is attached directly between the top frame layer and the bottom frame layer.
40 . The modular furniture assembly of claim 31 , wherein the armrest module further has a base vertical plate positioned below the stepped member.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
