Abstract

An electronic smoking device for generating an inhalable aerosol, wherein the electronic smoking device includes a mouth piece and a body section, the body section including a substance cartridge with an aerosolizable substance, a heating section, and a hull, wherein the heating section is arranged in between the mouth piece and the substance cartridge, and wherein the heating section is heatable to aerosolise the aerosolizable substance. The heating section includes a porous material and a heating element to heat the porous material, wherein the porous material also includes a cavity which creates a fluid flow path from the substance cartridge to the mouth piece.

An electronic smoking device for generating an inhalable aerosol, wherein the electronic smoking device comprises a mouth piece and a body section, the body section comprising a substance cartridge with an aerosolizable substance, a heating section, and a hull, wherein the heating section is arranged in between the mouth piece and the substance cartridge, and wherein the heating section is heatable to aerosolise the aerosolizable substance,
 wherein,   the heating section comprises a porous material and a heating element to heat the porous material, wherein the porous material further comprises a cavity which creates a fluid flow path from the substance cartridge to the mouth piece.   
     
     
         2 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the porous material comprises a shape of a tube, wherein the heating element is arranged at an outside of the tube, and wherein the fluid flow path is arranged in an inside of the tube.   
     
     
         3 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the electronic smoking device further comprises a flow sensor to detect a fluid flow inside the device.   
     
     
         4 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the aerosolizable substance is releasable from the substance cartridge into the cavity of the porous material.   
     
     
         5 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the electronic smoking device further comprises an atomizer attached to the substance cartridge, wherein the aerosolizable substance is releasable from the substance cartridge through the atomizer and thereby atomizable into the cavity of the porous material.   
     
     
         6 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the electronic smoking device further comprises a pressure generating mechanism by which the aerosolizable substance is displaceable from the substance cartridge into the cavity.   
     
     
         7 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the electronic smoking device further comprises an activation sensor which is arranged to detect a customer interaction with the device.   
     
     
         8 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 7  wherein,
 the electronic smoking device further comprises a flow sensor to detect a fluid flow inside the device; and 
 the releasing of aerosolizable substance from the substance cartridge into the heating section is based on signals from at least one of the activation sensor or the flow sensor. 
 
     
     
         9 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the porous material is a high temperature resistant material.   
     
     
         10 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 9 ,
 wherein,   the porous material is heatable by the heating element to a temperature of 200° C. to 350° C.   
     
     
         11 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the aerosolizable substance is aerosolizable by contact with the heated porous material, wherein an aerosol is releaseable from within the porous material into the mouth piece along the fluid flow path.   
     
     
         12 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the porous material is a sintered material with a particle size of 1-80 micrometre.   
     
     
         13 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 1 ,
 wherein,   the electronic smoking device further comprises a second fluid flow path is arranged in the body section between the hull and the porous material.   
     
     
         14 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 13 ,
 wherein,   the porous material connects the first liquid flow path and the second liquid flow path and thereby functions as a third liquid flow path.   
     
     
         15 . A method for creating an inhalable aerosol with an electronic smoking device according to  claim 14 , the method comprising:
 heating the porous material by the heating element,   releasing the aerosolizable substance from the substance cartridge into the cavity of the heated porous material and thereby aerosolised,   by pulling of a consumer at the mouth piece, flowing of air from outside of the device along the second and third flow paths and mixing with the aerosolized substance in the cavity, and   releasing the resulting inhalable aerosol from the cavity along the first flow path into the mouth piece.   
     
     
         16 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 13 , wherein the second flow path is in a fluid connection to the outside of the device through a hole in the hull. 
     
     
         17 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 12 , wherein the porous material is a sintered material with a particle size of 1-20 micrometre. 
     
     
         18 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 10 , wherein the porous material is heatable by the heating element to a temperature of 200° C. to 290° C. 
     
     
         19 . The electronic smoking device according to  claim 9 , wherein the high temperature resistance material comprises a metal and/or ceramic materials.
