Aerosol Generating Article
Abstract
An aerosol generating article ( 10 ) for a non-combustion heating aerosol generating device comprising an aerosol generating substrate and a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol generating substrate, wherein the aerosol generating substrate is contained in a wrapper and in the form of a foam comprising an aerosol forming agent, a source of nicotine and a non-tobacco flavouring agent, wherein the mouthpiece comprises a filter ( 16 ) and a spacing and/or cooling element ( 14 ) is provided between the aerosol generating substrate and the filter ( 16 ), and wherein the aerosol generating substrate comprises between 0.1 and 10 wt. % nicotine in dry basis of the aerosol generating substrate.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An aerosol generating article ( 10 ) for a non-combustion heating aerosol generating device comprising
an aerosol generating substrate, and a mouthpiece downstream of the aerosol generating substrate, wherein the aerosol generating substrate is contained in a wrapper and in the form of a foam comprising
an aerosol forming agent,
a source of nicotine, and
a non-tobacco flavouring agent,
wherein the mouthpiece comprises a filter and a spacing and/or cooling element is provided between the aerosol generating substrate and the filter, and wherein the aerosol generating substrate comprises between 0.1 and 10 wt. % nicotine in dry basis of the aerosol generating substrate.
2 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating substrate is free of tobacco material.
3 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating substrate further comprises a foam forming agent and/or a foam stabilizing agent.
4 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating substrate comprises between 0.1 and 4 wt. % nicotine in dry basis of the aerosol generating substrate.
5 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol forming agent is present in an amount of at least 30 wt. % of the aerosol generating substrate.
6 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol forming agent is present in an amount comprised between 60 wt. % and 70 wt. % of the aerosol generating substrate.
7 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 6 , wherein the aerosol forming agent is at least one of glycerol, glycol derivatives, sebacate esters, or mixtures thereof.
8 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 6 , wherein the aerosol forming agent is a combination of glycerol and propylene glycol.
9 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 3 , wherein the foam forming agent is at least one of agar, gellan gum, acacia gum, lecithin, polyglycerol esters of fatty acids, glycerol esters of fatty acids, sorbitan esters of fatty acids, or mixtures thereof.
10 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 3 , wherein the foam stabilizing agent is at least one of cellulose gum, hydroxyalkylated carbohydrates, derivatives thereof, or mixture thereof.
11 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 10 , wherein the foam stabilizing agent comprises cellulose gum and/or cellulose fibre.
12 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 11 , wherein the foam stabilizing agent comprises a ratio of between 1:0 and 1:2 of cellulose gum to cellulose fibre in the foam.
13 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 12 , wherein the cellulose fibre is present in an amount between 5 wt. % and 15 wt. % of the foam.
14 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the non-tobacco flavouring agent is at least one of menthol, natural and/or artificial plant or nut flavour, animal flavour, sweet-like, alcoholic or dessert-like flavour, or combinations thereof.
15 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 14 , wherein the amount of flavouring agent is present in an amount of 0.2 to 18 wt. % of the foam.
16 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating substrate extends from an upstream end towards a downstream end of the article.
17 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol generating substrate is in the form of:
a hollow tube comprising at least one outlet for air to communicate from outside to an inside of the hollow tube, or a cylindrical rod, or a cylindrical rod comprising a plurality of longitudinal through-passages or channels, or a group of discrete pieces.
18 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the spacing and/or cooling element is a hollow paper tube.
19 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 18 , wherein the hollow paper tube has a length between 10 mm and 25 mm.
20 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the filter has a pressure drop lower than 15 mmH2O/mm, wherein the pressure drop is determined under standard conditions defined by Coresta Recommended Method No. 41 (2007) and Coresta Guide No. 4 (2019).
21 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 1 , wherein the filter comprises a filtering material comprising a paper of basis weight 20 to 40 g/m2.
22 . The aerosol generating article according to claim 20 , wherein the filter comprises a filtering material comprising a cellulose acetate tow having a denier per filament above 6 and a total denier below 40,000.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
