Abstract

A refrigerator includes: a storage chamber; a cooler to cool the storage chamber; a first tray assembly and a second tray assembly configured to define an ice making cell; a heater disposed adjacent to at least one of the first tray assembly or the second tray assembly; and a controller configured to control the heater, wherein the controller controls the heater to be turned on to make transparent ice from water within the ice making cell, and the controller controls the heater so that when a heat transfer amount between the storage chamber and the water of the ice making cell increases, the heating amount of the heater increases, and when the heat transfer amount between the storage chamber and the water of the ice making cell decreases, the heating amount of the heater decreases.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An ice maker comprising:
a first tray configured to define a first portion of a cell; a second tray configured to define a second portion of the cell, the first portion and the second portion of the cell being configured to form a space in which a liquid introduced into the space is phase changed to ice; and a second tray supporter on which at least a portion of the second tray is seated, wherein the second tray supporter includes a first portion surrounding a portion of the second tray, and a second portion extending from the first portion, wherein the second portion includes a first wall extending in a first direction from the first portion, and a second wall extending in a second direction different from the first direction, and wherein the first wall and the second wall are integrally provided as one component, without being manufactured in separate configurations.

2 . The ice maker of claim 1 , wherein a length of the second wall in the second direction is greater than that of the first wall in the first direction.

3 . The ice maker of claim 1 , wherein a portion of the second wall has a greater length in the second direction than that of a portion of the first wall in the first direction.

4 . The ice maker of claim 1 , wherein the first direction includes a horizontal direction, and the second direction includes a vertical direction.

5 . The ice maker of claim 1 , wherein the second direction includes an arrangement direction of at least a portion of the cell of the first tray and at least a portion of the cell of the second tray.

6 . The ice maker of claim 1 , further comprising a second tray cover,
wherein the second tray cover and the second tray supporter are integrally formed.

7 . The ice maker of claim 1 , further comprising a second tray cover,
wherein the second tray cover and the second tray supporter are coupled to each other after being manufactured in separate configurations.

8 . The ice maker of claim 1 , further comprising a second tray cover,
wherein the second tray cover includes a portion being disposed at one side of the second tray, and the second tray supporter includes a portion being disposed at another side of the second tray.

9 . The ice maker of claim 1 , further comprising a second tray cover,
wherein the second tray cover includes a portion being disposed on one surface of the second tray, and the second tray supporter includes a portion being disposed on another surface of the second tray.

10 . An ice maker comprising:
a first tray configured to define a first portion of a cell; a second tray configured to define a second portion of the cell, the first portion and the second portion of the cell being configured to form a space in which a liquid introduced into the space is phase changed to ice; and a second tray supporter on which at least a portion of the second tray is seated, wherein the second tray supporter includes a first portion surrounding a portion of the second tray, and a second portion extending from the first portion, wherein the second portion includes a first wall extending in a first direction from the first portion, and a second wall extending in a second direction different from the first direction, wherein the second tray includes a first surface and a second surface, the first surface and the second surface defining a thickness of the second tray, and wherein the second tray supporter is disposed at the first surface of the second tray, without being disposed at the second surface of the second tray.

11 . The ice maker of claim 10 , wherein a length of the second wall in the second direction is greater than that of the first wall in the first direction.

12 . The ice maker of claim 10 , wherein a portion of the second wall has a greater length in the second direction than that of a portion of the first wall in the first direction.

13 . The ice maker of claim 10 , wherein the first direction includes a horizontal direction, and the second direction includes a vertical direction.

14 . The ice maker of claim 10 , wherein the second direction includes an arrangement direction of at least a portion of the cell of the first tray and at least a portion of the cell of the second tray.

15 . The ice maker of claim 10 , further comprising a second tray cover,
wherein the second tray cover and the second tray supporter are integrally formed.

16 . The ice maker of claim 10 , further comprising a second tray cover,
wherein the second tray cover and the second tray supporter are coupled to each other after being manufactured in separate configurations.

17 . The ice maker of claim 10 , further comprising a second tray cover,
