Method of providing guidance about washing and drying method and washing-machine using the same

Abstract

Provided are a washing machine for providing guidance about a washing and drying method and a control method for the washing machine. The washing machine receives, through an input interface, a user input of setting a desired time for washing and drying of laundry to be completed, calculates a minimum time required for the washing and drying of the laundry to be completed, based on determining that the desired time is less than the minimum time required, displays, through a display, guide information for completing the washing and drying of the laundry within the desired time, and based on a user input according to the guide information, drives washing components and drying components to wash and dry the laundry within the desired time.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A washing machine comprising:
 washing components;   drying components;   an input interface;   a display;   at least one memory storing one or more instructions; and   at least one processor,   wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the at least one memory to:
 receive, through the input interface, a user input of setting a desired time for washing and drying of laundry to be completed; 
 calculate a minimum time required for the washing and drying of the laundry to be completed; 
 based on determining that the desired time is less than the minimum time required, display, through the display, guide information for completing the washing and drying of the laundry within the desired time; and 
 based on a user input according to the guide information, drive the washing components and the drying components to wash and dry the laundry within the desired time. 
   
     
     
         2 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to take out some of the laundry. 
     
     
         3 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to increase a drying temperature of the laundry. 
     
     
         4 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to lower a drying level of the laundry. 
     
     
         5 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to change a washing and drying course of the washing machine to a hot air-drying course that does not include water washing of the laundry. 
     
     
         6 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the one or more instructions to:
 calculate, based on a weight of the laundry, the minimum time required for completing the washing and drying of the laundry; and   display the minimum time required.   
     
     
         7 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the one or more instructions to:
 re-calculate, based on a user input according to the guide information, the minimum time required for completing the washing and drying of the laundry; and   drive the washing components and the drying components to wash and dry the laundry within the desired time, based on determining that the desired time is the re-calculated minimum time required or greater.   
     
     
         8 . The washing machine of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the one or more instructions to:
 determine whether drying of the laundry is possible; and   based on determining that the laundry is not dryable, output a notification indicating that the laundry is not dryable without performing the drying.   
     
     
         9 . A washing machine comprising:
 washing components;   drying components;   an input interface;   a display;   at least one memory storing one or more instructions; and   at least one processor,   wherein the at least one processor is configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the at least one memory to:
 receive, through the input interface, a user input of selecting a quick washing and drying course of the washing machine; 
 display, through the display, at least one duration option from among a plurality of duration options, based on receiving the user input of selecting the quick washing and drying course; and 
 based on receiving, through the input interface, a user input of selecting one of the displayed at least one duration option, drive the washing components and the drying components according to a washing setting value and a drying setting value corresponding to the selected duration option to perform washing and drying. 
   
     
     
         10 . The washing machine of  claim 9 , wherein the at least one processor is further configured to execute the one or more instructions to display the washing setting value and the drying setting value corresponding to the duration option, together with the displayed duration option. 
     
     
         11 . A control method for a washing machine that provides guidance about a washing and drying method, the control method comprising:
 receiving a user input of setting a desired time for washing and drying of laundry to be completed;   calculating a minimum time required for completing the washing and drying of the laundry;   based on determining that the desired time is less than the minimum time required, displaying guide information for completing the washing and drying of the laundry within the desired time; and   based on a user input according to the guide information, washing and drying the laundry within the desired time.   
     
     
         12 . The control method of  claim 11 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to take out some of the laundry. 
     
     
         13 . The control method of  claim 11 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to increase a drying temperature of the laundry. 
     
     
         14 . The control method of  claim 11 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to lower a drying level of the laundry. 
     
     
         15 . The control method of  claim 11 , wherein the guide information includes information for guiding a user to change a washing and drying course of the washing machine to a hot air-drying course that does not include water washing of the laundry. 
     
     
         16 . The control method of  claim 11 , wherein:
 the calculating of the minimum time required for completing the washing and drying of the laundry comprises calculating, based on a weight of the laundry, the minimum time required for completing the washing and drying of the laundry, and   the control method further comprises displaying the minimum time.   
     
     
         17 . The control method of  claim 11 , wherein the washing and drying of the laundry within the desired time, based on the user input according to the guide information, comprises:
 re-calculating, based on a user input according to the guide information, the minimum time required for completing the washing and drying of the laundry; and   based on determining that the desired time is the re-calculated minimum time required or greater, washing and drying the laundry within the desired time.   
     
     
         18 . The control method of  claim 11 , further comprising:
 determining whether drying of the laundry is possible; and   based on determining that the laundry is not dryable, outputting a notification indicating that the laundry is not dryable without performing the drying.   
     
     
         19 . A control method for a washing machine, the control method comprising:
 receiving a user input of selecting a quick washing and drying course of the washing machine;   based on receiving the user input of selecting the quick washing and drying course, displaying at least one duration option from among a plurality of duration options; and   based on receiving a user input of selecting one of the displayed at least one duration option, performing washing and drying according to a washing setting value and a drying setting value corresponding to the selected duration option.   
     
     
         20 . The control method of  claim 19 , wherein the displaying of the at least one duration option from among the plurality of duration options comprises displaying the washing setting value and the drying setting value corresponding to the duration option, together with the displayed duration option.
