Smoking article and aerosol-generating system including same

Abstract

Disclosed is a smoking article usable in both heated and combustible types. The smoking article includes a first part including a medium and a wrapper wrapped around the medium and a second part including a multifunctional material having a glass transition temperature of higher than 180° C., wherein the wrapper includes a combustion improver, and the multifunctional material includes a moisturizer.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A smoking article comprising:
 a first part comprising a medium and a wrapper wrapped around the medium; and   a second part comprising a multifunctional material having a glass transition temperature of higher than 180° C.,   wherein the wrapper comprises a combustion improver, and   the multifunctional material comprises a moisturizer.   
     
     
         2 . The smoking article of  claim 1 , wherein the combustion improver is included in an amount in a range of 0.5 to 3.0 wt % based on the total weight of the wrapper. 
     
     
         3 . The smoking article of  claim 1 , wherein the combustion improver comprises one or more selected from the group consisting of a citric acid-based compound, an acetic acid-based compound, a phosphate-based compound, and a tartaric acid-based compound. 
     
     
         4 . The smoking article of  claim 1 , wherein the multifunctional material comprises one or more of a paper sheet, a cellulose filament, and a cotton sheet. 
     
     
         5 . The smoking article of  claim 1 , wherein the moisturizer is included in an amount in a range of 1 to 10 mg/mm based on the total length of the multifunctional material. 
     
     
         6 . The smoking article of  claim 1 , wherein the second part comprises:
 a first region being in contact with the first part;   and   a second region that differs from the first region, and   the first region comprises the multifunctional material.   
     
     
         7 . The smoking article of  claim 6 , wherein the second region comprises at least one selected from the group consisting of a cellulose acetate filter, a paper tube, and a hollow filter. 
     
     
         8 . An aerosol-generating system comprising:
 an aerosol-generating device comprising a receiving space therein and a proximal end provided on one end thereof; and   the smoking article of  claim 1 , the smoking article configured to be inserted into the receiving space,   wherein the receiving space comprises:
 a first space adjacent to the proximal end; and 
 a second space that differs from the first space, the first space is filled with the first part, and 
   the second space is filled with the second part.   
     
     
         9 . The aerosol-generating system of  claim 8 , wherein the aerosol-generating device further comprises a heater configured to heat the first and second parts. 
     
     
         10 . The aerosol-generating system of  claim 8 , wherein the second part comprises:
 a first region being in contact with the first part;   and   a second region that differs from the first region, and   the aerosol-generating device further comprises a heater configured to heat the first part and the first region.
