Abstract

A holster for securely holding a shotgun or rifle including a holster body attachable against a wearer's hip wherein the holster body is flexible. The holster includes a trigger guard cradle secured to the holster body. The trigger guard cradle includes an affixment portion protruding away from the holster body for capturing a trigger guard of the shotgun or rifle. The affixment portion includes a cavity between the affixment portion and the holster body wherein the holster body is securable to a belt. The holster body may be composed of a lightweight and sturdy material. The holster body may be composed of leather or a high-grade polymer. The trigger guard cradle may be composed of leather or a high-grade polymer and may accommodate different firearm sizes and shapes, providing a secure fit. The pair of slots may allow for easy and secure mounting to belts or waist-worn accessories.

1 . A holster for securely holding a shotgun or rifle, the holster comprising:
 a holster body attachable against a wearer's hip, the holster body being flexible; and   a trigger guard cradle secured to the holster body, the trigger guard cradle including an affixment portion protruding away from the holster body, the affixment portion for capturing a trigger guard of the shotgun or rifle;   wherein the affixment portion includes a cavity between the affixment portion and the holster body whereby the holster body is securable to a belt.   
     
     
         2 . The holster according to  claim 1  wherein the holster body is composed of a lightweight and sturdy material.

         17 . A holster for securely holding a shotgun or rifle, the holster comprising:
 a body portion for placement against a wearer's hip,   a trigger guard cradle for securing a trigger guard of the shotgun or rifle, the trigger guard cradle having a sloped upper edge, a rear portion of the sloped upper edge positioned higher than a front portion of the sloped upper edge wherein the sloped upper edge secures a grip of the shotgun or rifle along the side of the wearer; and   a pair of slots on the holster body for securing the holster to a belt;   wherein the shotgun or rifle is securable to the holster by only the trigger guard.   
     
     
         18 . The holster according to  claim 17  wherein the holster provides hands-free securing of the shotgun or rifle in the holster. 
     
     
         19 . The holster according to  claim 17  wherein the holster balances the shotgun or rifle in an open position. 
     
     
         20 . The holster according to  claim 17  wherein the trigger guard cradle is stitched to the body portion.
