Mouth component for an aerosol provision device

Abstract

A mouth component for an aerosol provision device for generating an aerosol from aerosol-generating material, the mouth component including a support defining a mouth arranged to receive at least portion of an article having aerosol generating material, and a retention element on the support, wherein the retention element is arranged to act on the at least a portion of an article received through the mouth, and wherein the retention element includes a sealing portion arranged to seal the support with another component of the aerosol provision device.

1 . A mouth component for an aerosol provision device for generating an aerosol from aerosol-generating material, the mouth component comprising:
 a support defining a mouth arranged to receive at least portion of an article comprising aerosol generating material; and   a retention element on the support;   wherein the retention element is arranged to act on the at least a portion of an article received through the mouth; and   wherein the retention element comprises a sealing portion arranged to seal the support with another component of the aerosol provision device.   
     
     
         2 . The mouth component of  claim 1 , wherein the support and the retention element are integrally formed. 
     
     
         3 . The mouth component of  claim 1 , wherein the retention element at least one of protrudes into or overlaps the mouth. 
     
     
         4 . The mouth component of  claim 1 , wherein the retention element comprises a retention arrangement arranged to at least one of deform and distend upon engagement with at least part of an article received through the opening. 
     
     
         5 . The mouth component of  claim 4 , wherein the retention arrangement and the sealing portion are a one-piece component. 
     
     
         6 . The mouth component of  claim 4 , wherein the retention arrangement comprises at least one rib. 
     
     
         7 . The mouth component of  claim 4 , wherein the retention arrangement comprises a diaphragm. 
     
     
         8 . The mouth component of  claim 7 , wherein the diaphragm extends at least partially across the mouth. 
     
     
         9 . The mouth component of  claim 7 , wherein the diaphragm is segmented. 
     
     
         10 . The mouth component of  claim 1 , wherein the sealing portion comprises at least one seal, wherein the at least one seal protrudes from the retention element. 
     
     
         11 . The mouth component of  claim 10 , wherein the seal protrudes radially from an outer side of the support. 
     
     
         12 . The mouth component of  claim 10 , wherein the seal protrudes around the periphery of the support.

         17 . A retention element for an aerosol provision device configured to generate aerosol from aerosol-generating material, the retention element comprising:
 a circumferentially extending body defining a mouth through which at least a portion of an article containing aerosol-generating material is receivable, wherein the body comprises:   a retention feature arranged to act on the portion of an article received by the body;   a seal feature arranged to act as a seal with another component.   
     
     
         18 . The retention element of  claim 17 , wherein the retention feature extends radially inwardly from the circumferentially extending body. 
     
     
         19 . The retention element of  claim 17 , wherein the seal feature extends radially outwardly from the circumferential body. 
     
     
         20 . An aerosol provision device comprising the retention element of  claim 17 .
