Abstract
A toilet includes a bowl with a sump and a trapway connecting the sump to an outlet of the toilet. The trapway has a zeta shape and is configured to induce a siphon which provides pressure to suction waste water from the bowl during a flush cycle. A trapway supply conduit is connected to the trapway in a tangential orientation to an upleg region of the trapway. The trapway supply conduit supplies water to the trapway, which follows a contour of the inner surface of the trapway supply conduit and continues in the same direction into the upleg region of the trapway by relying on a fluid flow to follow the curve of a convex surface placed proximate to the flow.

a pedestal; a tank supported by the pedestal; an inlet passage associated with the pedestal; and a fluidic device supported by the pedestal and configured to direct water from the inlet passage to a predetermined pattern.

a flush canister disposed in the tank and fluidly connected to the inlet passage and the fluidic device.
3 . The toilet of claim 1 , further comprising:
a cover plate cast into the toilet and connected to the fluidic device.
4 . The toilet of claim 3 , wherein the cover plate and the fluidic device direct water in a fan shape.
5 . The toilet of claim 3 , wherein the cover plate and the fluidic device direct water in a repeating pattern.
6 . The toilet of claim 3 , wherein the cover plate and the fluidic device direct water in a pulsating flow pattern.
7 . The toilet of claim 3 , wherein the cover plate and the fluidic device direct water in an expanding sheet flow pattern.
8 . The toilet of claim 3 , further comprising:
a slot formed in the cover plate and directed at the toilet.
9 . The toilet of claim 1 , further comprising;
a trapway fluidly connecting to an outlet of the toilet, wherein the trapway has a shape configured to induce a siphon to provide a pressure to suction waste water from the toilet during a flush cycle.
10 . A toilet comprising:
a bowl having a sump in a bottom thereof; an inlet passage formed in the bowl or the sump; and a fluidic device supported by configured to direct water from the inlet passage to a predetermined pattern.
11 . The toilet of claim 10 , wherein the fluidic device is cast as part of the toilet.
12 . The toilet of claim 10 , further comprising:
a flush canister fluidly connected to the inlet passage and the fluidic device.
13 . The toilet of claim 10 , further comprising:
a cover plate cast into the toilet and connected to the fluidic device.
14 . The toilet of claim 13 , wherein the cover plate and the fluidic device direct water in a fan shape, a repeating pattern, a pulsating flow pattern, or an expanding sheet flow pattern.
15 . The toilet of claim 13 , further comprising:
a slot formed in the cover plate and directed at the bowl.
16 . A toilet comprising:
a pedestal defining a toilet bowl; a tank supported by the pedestal; an inlet passage formed in the pedestal; at least one fluidic device supported by the pedestal and configured to direct water from the inlet passage to a repeating water pattern; and a flush canister disposed in the tank and fluidly connected to the inlet passage and the fluidic device.
17 . The toilet of claim 16 , wherein the fluidic device is configured to provide a flow of water in a sheet-like layer substantially tangent to an inner surface of the toilet bowl.
18 . The toilet of claim 16 , wherein the at least one fluidic device includes a plurality of fluidic devices fluidly connected to the inlet passage.
19 . The toilet of claim 18 , wherein the plurality of fluidic devices are arranged at different positions around the toilet bowl.
