Reversible toy

Abstract

In one embodiment, a reversible toy includes a body with a first body portion having a first surface and a second body portion having a second surface, the second portion being coupled to the first portion. The first portion and the second portion together define a globoid shape, with a sealed cavity therebetween, and an interior cavity within the body. The cavity contains a stuffing separate from the portions, separates the portions, and defines the globoid shape. The body is reversible between a first and second position to alternatingly present one of the first surface or second surface defining an exterior of the body. The other of the first and second surface is alternatingly storable in the interior cavity and the first and second body portions and the stuffing collapse into the interior cavity through an opening when the body is moved between the first position and the second position.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A reversible toy comprising:
 a body including:
 a first portion, and 
 a second portion coupled with the first portion to define a sealed cavity therebetween and to define an interior cavity; and 
   a fill material positioned within the sealed cavity;   wherein
 the body defines an opening to the interior cavity, 
 the body is reversible between a first configuration and a second configuration, 
 in the first configuration the first portion defines an exterior of the body, and 
 in the second configuration the second portion defines the exterior of the body. 
   
     
     
         2 . The reversible toy of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first appendage coupled to the first portion; and   a second appendage coupled to the second portion.   
     
     
         3 . The reversible toy of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 an appendage corresponding to one or more of legs, arms, tentacles, horns, ears, hair, or other body features.   
     
     
         4 . The reversible toy of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first appendage coupled to the first portion at a first position; and   a second appendage coupled to the second portion at a second position;   wherein the first position in the first configuration is different relative to the second position in the second configuration.   
     
     
         5 . The reversible toy of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first appendage; and   a second appendage;   wherein the first appendage and the second appendage are visible in the first configuration and in the second configuration.   
     
     
         6 . The reversible toy of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first appendage having a first characteristic, wherein the first characteristic is at least one of a first color, a first shape, or a first tactile feel; and   a second appendage having a second characteristic, wherein the second characteristic is at least one of a second color, a second shape, or a second tactile feel and different from the first characteristic.   
     
     
         7 . A reversible toy comprising:
 a body including:
 a first body portion having a first surface; 
 a second body portion having a second surface and coupled to the first body portion; and 
   a stuffing separate from the first body portion and the second body portion;   wherein
 the first body portion and the second body portion together define a sealed cavity therebetween and together define a separate interior cavity within the body, 
 the stuffing is positioned in the sealed cavity, and 
 the body is reversible between a first configuration and a second configuration to alternatingly present one of the first surface or the second surface at an exterior of the body and an other of the first surface and the second surface is alternatingly positioned in the interior cavity. 
   
     
     
         8 . The reversible toy of  claim 7 , wherein:
 in the first configuration the reversible toy has a first appearance,   in the second configuration the reversible toy has a second appearance, and   the first appearance is similar to or different from the second appearance.   
     
     
         9 . The reversible toy of  claim 7 , wherein:
 the first body portion and the second body portion at least partially define an opening to the interior cavity, and   a retainer is positioned at or adjacent the opening.   
     
     
         10 . The reversible toy of  claim 9 , wherein the retainer defines a diameter of the opening to the interior cavity that is less than a maximum diameter of the body. 
     
     
         11 . The reversible toy of  claim 7 , wherein
 the first body portion extends to at least one first terminal edge,   the second body portion extends to at least one second terminal edge, and   the first terminal edge is coupled to the second terminal edge.   
     
     
         12 . The reversible toy of  claim 7 , wherein
 the first body portion defines a first side edge,   the second body portion defines a second side edge, and   the first side edge is coupled to the second side edge.   
     
     
         13 . The reversible toy of  claim 7 , wherein
 the first body portion and the second body portion are each one of a plurality of body portions, and   the plurality of body portions are coupled to define the body.   
     
     
         14 . A reversible toy comprising:
 a body including:
 a first surface; 
 a second surface; and 
 a fill material; 
   wherein
 the first surface and second surface are coupled to define a sealed cavity and an interior cavity, 
 the fill material is positioned within the sealed cavity, 
 in a first configuration, the second surface at least partially defines the interior cavity, 
 in a second configuration, the first surface at least partially defines the interior cavity, and 
 the reversible toy is reversible between the first configuration and the second configuration. 
   
     
     
         15 . The reversible toy of  claim 14 , wherein the first surface or the second surface are defined by two or more portions coupled together. 
     
     
         16 . The reversible toy of  claim 14 , wherein the first surface defines a first character portion, and the second surface defines a second character portion. 
     
     
         17 . The reversible toy of  claim 16 , wherein the first character portion is different from the second character portion. 
     
     
         18 . The reversible toy of  claim 14 , wherein the body defines an opening to the interior cavity, and the interior cavity has a closed end opposite the opening. 
     
     
         19 . The reversible toy of  claim 14 , further comprising:
 a first appendage; and   a second appendage;   wherein the second appendage is at least partially stored within the interior cavity in the first configuration and the first appendage is at least partially stored within the interior cavity in the second configuration.   
     
     
         20 . The reversible toy of  claim 14 , wherein the body has a first body shape in the first configuration corresponding to one or more of a globoid shape, a cylindrical shape, round shape, or an ellipsoid shape.
