Abstract

A hearing enhancing garment for enhancing a user's ability to hear includes a hat that can be worn on a user's head. A pair of ear cups is attached to and extends downwardly from the hat. Each of the pair of ear cups is positioned on opposing sides of the hat with respect to each other to extend behind a respective one of the user's ears when the user wears the hat. Each of the ear cups is curved forwardly thereby enhancing the user's ability to hear sounds emanating from in front of the user when the user is wearing the hat. A pair of wires is each integrated into a respective one of the pair of ear cups to facilitate each of the pair of ear cups to be shaped to conform to the user's ears.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A hearing enhancing garment for enhancing a user's ability to hear sounds emanating from in front of the user, said garment comprising:
a hat having a gore and a brim extending away from said gore wherein said hat is configured to be worn on a user's head having said brim extending over the user's face for shading the user's face; a pair of ear cups, each of said pair of ear cups being attached to and extending downwardly from said gore, each of said pair of ear cups being positioned on opposing sides of said gore with respect to each other wherein said pair of ear cups is configured to extend behind a respective one of the user's ears when said user wears said hat, each of said ear cups being curved toward said brim wherein each of said ear cups is configured to reflect sound traveling from brim toward said pair of ear cups thereby enhancing the user's ability to hear sounds emanating from in front of the user when the user is wearing said hat, each of said ear cups having a first edge, a second edge and a forward surface extending between said first edge and said second edge, said first edge and said second edge each being configured to extend behind the respective one of the user's ears while extending around the respective one of the user's ears wherein each of said ear cups is configured to expose the respective one of the user's ears to sound directed laterally towards the respective one of the user's ears unobstructed by the ear cups; and a pair of wires, each of said pair of wires being integrated into a respective one of said pair of ear cups, each of said pair of wires being comprised of a bendable material thereby facilitating each of said pair of ear cups to be shaped wherein said pair of wires is configured to facilitate each of said pair of ear cups to be shaped to conform to the user's ears.

2 . The garment according to claim 1 , wherein:
each of said first edge and said second edge of a respective one of said ear cups intersects each other at a respective first end and second end of said respective ear cup; and each of said first edge and said second edge of said respective ear cup curves outwardly in opposing directions from each other from a center of said respective ear cup such that said respective ear cup has a leaf shape.

3 . The garment according to claim 2 , wherein said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups has a coupled portion being positioned adjacent said first end, said forward surface of each of said pair of ear cups is concavely arcuate between said first edge and said second edge wherein said forward surface of each of said pair of ear cups is configured to focus sound toward the respective user's ear when the user wears said hat.

4 . The garment according to claim 3 , wherein:
said gore has a lower edge being continuously arcuate about a center of said gore such that said lower edge defines a circular shape, a rear edge of said brim being aligned with said lower edge; and said coupled portion of said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups is coupled to said lower edge of said gore such that said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups curves downwardly from said lower edge of said gore wherein said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups is configured to curve behind the respective user's ear when the user wears said hat.

5 . The garment according to claim 1 , wherein:
each of said pair of ear cups has a first edge and a second edge, each of said first edge and said second edge of a respective one of said pair of ear cups intersecting other at a respective first end and second end of said respective ear cup; each of said pair of wires follows along a full length of said second edge of said respective ear cup; and said second end of each of said pair of ear cups being directed toward said brim.

6 . A hearing enhancing garment for enhancing a user's ability to hear sounds emanating from in front of the user, said garment comprising:
a hat having a gore and a brim extending away from said gore wherein said hat is configured to be worn on a user's head having said brim extending over the user's face for shading the user's face, said gore having a lower edge being continuously arcuate about a center of said gore such that said lower edge defines a circular shape, a rear edge of said brim being aligned with said lower edge; a pair of ear cups, each of said pair of ear cups being attached to and extending downwardly from said gore, each of said pair of ear cups being positioned on opposing sides of said gore with respect to each other wherein said pair of ear cups is configured to extend behind a respective one of the user's ears when said user wears said hat, each of said ear cups being curved toward said brim wherein each of said ear cups is configured to reflect sound traveling from brim toward said pair of ear cups thereby enhancing the user's ability to hear sounds emanating from in front of the user when the user is wearing said hat, each of said ear cups having a first edge, a second edge and a forward surface extending between said first edge and said second edge, said first edge and said second edge each being configured to extend behind the respective one of the user's ears while extending around the respective one of the user's ears wherein each of said ear cups is configured to expose the respective one of the user's ears to sound directed laterally towards the respective one of the user's ears unobstructed by the ear cups, each of said first edge and said second edge of a respective one of said ear cups intersecting each other at a respective first end and second end of said respective ear cup, each of said first edge and said second edge of said respective ear cup curving outwardly in opposing directions from each other from a center of said respective ear cup such that said respective ear cup has a leaf shape, said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups having a coupled portion being positioned adjacent said first end, said coupled portion of said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups being coupled to said lower edge of said gore such that said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups curves downwardly from said lower edge of said gore wherein said first edge of each of said pair of ear cups is configured to curve behind the respective user's ear when the user wears said hat, said second end of each of said pair of ear cups being directed toward said brim, said forward surface of each of said pair of ear cups being concavely arcuate between said first edge and said second edge wherein said forward surface of each of said pair of ear cups is configured to focus sound toward the respective user's ear when the user wears said hat; and a pair of wires, each of said pair of wires being integrated into a respective one of said pair of ear cups, each of said pair of wires being comprised of a bendable material thereby facilitating each of said pair of ear cups to be shaped wherein said pair of wires is configured to facilitate each of said pair of ear cups to be shaped to conform to the user's ears, each of said pair of wires following along a full length of said second edge of said respective ear cup.
