Abstract

The present invention relates to a reinforcement material for textiles consisting of a non-woven support made of melt-spun polymer fibers and a hot-melt adhesive composition applied thereto, and to the use thereof.

A reinforcement material for textiles, wherein the reinforcing material consists of a non-woven support made of melt-spun polymer fibers and a hot-melt adhesive composition applied to said non-woven support, characterized in that the reinforcing material has an elongation at 100 N in at least one direction of at least 120% and no more than 350%, as determined according to ISO 9073-3. 
     
     
         2 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an elongation at 100 N in at least one direction of at least 140%, as determined according to ISO 9073-3. 
     
     
         3 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the reinforcing material according to the invention has an elongation at 100 N of from 120 to 300%, in at least one direction, determined according to ISO 9073-3. 
     
     
         4 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an elongation at break of from 250 to 700%, as determined according to ISO 9073-3. 
     
     
         5 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that it has a maximum tensile force, as measured according to ISO 9073-3, in at least one direction of at least 100 N. 
     
     
         6 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said non-woven support has a base weight of from 150 to 500 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         7 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said hot-melt adhesive composition has a base weight of from 30 to 120 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         8 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the polymer of the non-woven support is selected from the group of polyester-based polymers, polyamide-based polymers, polyolefin-based polymers, polyurethane-based polymers, ethylene/vinyl acetate-based polymers, polyether-based polymers, elastomer-based polymers, copolymers thereof, and blends thereof. 
     
     
         9 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said hot-melt adhesive composition is selected from the group consisting of linear polyesters, linear polyethers, ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, polyethylene, high density polyethylene (HDPE), thermoplastic polyurethanes, polypropylenes, polyamides, thermoplastic elastomers, polyolefins, and mixtures and blends thereof. 
     
     
         10 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said hot-melt adhesive composition extends continuously throughout the surface of the non-woven support. 
     
     
         11 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the hot-melt adhesive composition has been applied discontinuously to the non-woven support. 
     
     
         12 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an air permeability, as determined according to DIN EN ISO 9237, at 100 kPa of at least 25 l/m 2 /s, and/or an air permeability at 200 kPa of at least 50 l/m 2 /s. 
     
     
         13 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an air permeability at 100 kPa of not more than 1000 l/m 2 /s.

         15 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 3 , characterized in that the reinforcing material according to the invention has an elongation at 100 N of from 140% to 250%, in at least one direction, determined according to ISO 9073-3. 
     
     
         16 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 4 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an elongation at break of from 300% to 600%, as determined according to ISO 9073-3. 
     
     
         17 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 5 , characterized in that it has a maximum tensile force, as measured according to ISO 9073-3, in at least one direction of at least 120 N. 
     
     
         18 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 6 , characterized in that said non-woven support has a base weight of from 250 to 400 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         19 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 7 , characterized in that said hot-melt adhesive composition has a base weight of from 50 to 80 g/m 2 . 
     
     
         20 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 12 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an air permeability, as determined according to DIN EN ISO 9237, at 100 kPa of at least 30 l/m 2 /s, and/or an air permeability at 200 kPa of at least 55 l/m 2 /s. 
     
     
         21 . The reinforcement material according to  claim 1 , characterized in that the reinforcing material has an air permeability at 100 kPa of not more than 750 l/m 2 /s.
