Sports equipment strap devices, systems, and methods

Abstract

A swinging assist device may include a hand securement and a strip coupled to the hand securement. The strip can form an elongate grip portion. The strip can include a first layer having a first end and a second end, a second layer having a first end and a second end. The second layer can be configured to contact a sport equipment in use. The swinging assist device may include a fastening system including a first fastening feature and a second fastening feature. The hand securement can be configured to receive the first hand of a user and the elongate grip portion can be configured to receive the second hand of the user. The swinging assist device can be configured to enable the user to freely release the second hand from the grip portion.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A strap device for securing a first hand and a second hand of a baseball player to a baseball bat during a swinging motion, the strap device comprising:
 a strip, the strip comprising:
 a first layer having a first end and a second end, the first layer comprising nylon webbing; 
 a second layer having a first end and a second end, the second layer comprising leather and configured to contact the baseball bat in use; 
   a hook and loop fastening system comprising a hook and a loop;   wherein the strip turns such that the first end of the first layer contacts the second end of the first layer, and the strip forms a loop portion and a grip portion;   wherein the loop portion is configured to receive the first hand of the baseball player and the grip portion is configured to receive the second hand of the baseball player;   wherein the hook of the hook and loop fastening system is positioned on the loop portion, and the loop of the hook and loop fastening system is positioned on the grip portion;   wherein the second layer is sewn to the first layer;   wherein the strap device is configured to allow the baseball player to release the first hand from the loop portion after the baseball player releases the second hand from the grip portion.   
     
     
         2 . A swinging assist strap for assisting with a swing of sports equipment, the swinging assist strap comprising:
 an elongate body having a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a first end, and a second end opposite the first end, the elongate body comprising:
 a first layer positioned on the first side, the first layer having a first length; 
 a second layer positioned on the second side, the second layer having a second length; 
   a first strip attachment positioned on the first side and adjacent to the first end of the elongate body;   a second strip attachment;   wherein the second end of the elongate body is turned and coupled with the first layer to form a loop portion, the loop portion configured to receive a first hand of a user;   wherein the second strip attachment is positioned on the loop portion and away from the second end.   
     
     
         3 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 2 , wherein the first strip attachment and the second strip attachment form a hook and loop system. 
     
     
         4 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 2 , wherein the first layer comprises nylon webbing. 
     
     
         5 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 2 , wherein the second layer comprises leather. 
     
     
         6 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 2 , wherein the second length is about 40 percent of the first length. 
     
     
         7 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 2 , further comprising a grip portion. 
     
     
         8 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 7 , wherein the grip portion comprises two layers of nylon and one layer of leather. 
     
     
         9 . The swinging assist strap of  claim 2 , wherein the sports equipment is a baseball bat. 
     
     
         10 . A combination comprising the swinging assist strap of  claim 9  and the baseball bat. 
     
     
         11 . A swinging assist device which in use assists to releasably secure a first hand and a second hand of a player to a sports device during a swinging motion, the swinging assist device comprising:
 a glove body configured to cover a first hand of a user;   an elongate strip coupled to the glove body to form a grip portion, the elongate strip comprising:
 a first end and a second end; 
 the first end secured to the glove body; and 
 the second end releasably attached to the glove body, wherein when the second end is released from the glove body, the second end extending from the glove body with a length sufficient to be gripped by a second hand of the user; 
   wherein, in use, the elongate strip is configured to be gripped by the user using the second hand such that the second hand simultaneously grips the elongate strip and the sports device and the swinging assist device is configured to enable the user to freely release the second hand from the grip portion and the sports device.   
     
     
         12 . The swinging assist device of  claim 11 , wherein the second end is configured to releasably attach to the glove body with a fastening system comprising a first fastening feature and a second fastening feature. 
     
     
         13 . The swinging assist device of  claim 12 , wherein the first fastening feature is a hook and the second fastening feature is a loop. 
     
     
         14 . The swinging assist device of  claim 11  wherein the elongate strip comprises a first layer and a second layer. 
     
     
         15 . The swinging assist device of  claim 14 , wherein the first layer comprises nylon webbing and the second layer comprises leather. 
     
     
         16 . The swinging assist device of  claim 14 , wherein the second layer is sewn to the first layer. 
     
     
         17 . The swinging assist device of  claim 11 , wherein the first end of the elongate strip is secured to the glove body by way of sewing. 
     
     
         18 . The swinging assist device of  claim 11 , wherein the glove body is configured to cover an entirety of the first hand of the user. 
     
     
         19 . The swinging assist device of  claim 11 , wherein the user is able to release the second hand while holding the sports device and the swinging assist device with the first hand.
